Loren or Brad,

Just noticed two new links in the Mustang Downloads section.

The version numbering seems to indicated these are new beta versions of the firmware????

Didn't see anything in the forums and didn't want to rush into updating without knowing what it is first.

Thanks

Good catch!, but I can't seem to locate these firmware versions.
Where did you see them? (or could they have been posted in error and removed?)

They are still there, they are the last two links in the list at the following URL:

http://www.fender.com/support/articles. ... ier-series

Here they are, I copied the links from the page referenced above. Mouse over the links and you will see the version...

Fender® Mustang™ III-V Firmware Download

Downloaded (very quick - small update ?) but I'm reluctant to install it without some idea of what's in it. (Also noted a firmware update there for the Mustang mini, which I don't think is even available yet !)

Loren ??

Brad ??

Changelist ??

The size of these files are consistent with the last firmware update in the neighborhood of 200K for the Mustang I and II and 240K for the III, IV and V. By all appearances this is a new beta version given the numbering scheme.

Still a little paranoid to update though until we have more info on it...

This might be the internet but "Please" wouldn't hurt. Never mind ???????
Also have you considered it is the weekend and these guys might like a break.

Good Manners cost nothing.

If you're that bothered try it and report back, I'm sure you can always reverse your action.

I installed it with no issues, so if you had to go back to the previous firmware that should not be a problem. The About screen shows 1.8 for the firmware version. I quickly looked at stomp box and advanced options and didn't see anything new. I will test it out more today. This was on a Mustang I.

I did the update... shows as 1.8 in the utility menu....
No changes noticed...

I didn't have the fizz before, and I still dont. :)

Looking forward to the release notes frm Loren and company.
(I'd like to know why I just upgraded! :) )

Wasn't intending personal rudeness to Loren and Brad, who are invariably helpful, although tossing this kind of update out there - on the weekend -wthout any kind of context, info or notice to your client base might be construed as less than polite ?

Just updated and unfortunately confirms that the fizz must be hardware related :(

Hi SoMany,
The Mode Knob was'nt in V1.6 .
Requested it from the Tech Team and here it is in V1.8.
Should be useful for Shadows- Hank Marvin type repeats.
Well done Tech Team - I'll download V1.8 when I get home from Ca.
Jim
