Have been a tube fan for a long time, but I just ordered a Mustang V for my studio...
From the reviews I have read this is a pretty good amp for the money and it ain't no Line 6 product...
Gonna use it mostly for headphone work for my DAW, but I do have a 2 x 12 cab with two 16ohm Texas Heats loaded up for a little loudness...

Still keeping my tube amps, Blues Deluxe Re-Issue, Blues Jr. and Vibro Champ, I just need a quieter way to get a really loud sound in my mixes....

Plus I want to beta test the Fuse Software for Fender....

Congrats on your purchase. I think you'll find that having the best of both worlds (SS and tube) is the best way to go.

+1! I have tube & modeling gear - both 'types' have their pro's & con's, and each can be 'better' than the other in different situations/venues. Portability, set-up, size, external connectivity, tonal variation, volume, floor control for gigging, etc are all considerations and no one single rig can be the best in every situation. It's great to have choice and flexibility of rigs to meet different needs.

Hi

I have had various tube amps in the past as well as line 6 hd 500 but My mustang IV is great, so easy to dial in various tones and as im in a cover band it suits me well even got this sound out of it similar to Metallica on Nothing else matters with my telecaster wouild you believe?

Cool sounds..
That's what I am looking for, flexibility. I write a lot of stuff and experiment with different lead guitar tones until I get a good one in the mix...

Here is a song I did with a Fender Players Deluxe going through a Vibro Champ XD with a Hardwire CM2 and Stereo Memory Man with Hazaria...

I too was a tube man. Still am. But, I tell you what. Lugging a single 12" Mustang III is much easier than my 2x12" DeVille. Hell, my Mustang III is half the wight of my Peavy Bandit 112, and they are the same size.

If you have not already bought the Mustang 4, I wold suggest the 3. The light weight is sooooo convenient. I am still surprized how close this solid state amp can mimic the tube amps. You'll still get that nice breakup and warm tones if you dial it right.

Hey the MIII is still no featherweight. At least 35 lbs. Though it sure beats hauling my 76 lb Twin up giant stairways back in the day.

The weight issue will be improved with just a head to carry, instead of my two tubes amps and ext. cabs. Where I go to jam there are two Mesa Boogie 8ohm 4 x 12 cabs, so I can just plug the head into them. That ought to breathe some fire out of the Mustang V....

Bring earplugs. And extra wall supports.

Use two amps at the same time. I only have one amp now but I used split the guitar signal through a pan pedal into two amps. The layered sound of two decent amps is better than ANY single amp - even a stereo amp.

I play the Blues Deluxe with a 2 x 12 ext cab with Texas Heats and the Blues Jr. with a Cannabis Rex and a 1 x 12 ext cab with a Cannabis Rex as my main jamming rig. Those two amps together are a beast all their own, especially with the EH Stereo Memory Man and the EH Cathedral in the chain...

So I got the Mustang V today and went through all of the presets with a 2 x 12 ext with Texas Heats in it and used my Players Deluxe Strat... Hell yeah! Most of them are ready to go, just little tweaking on the eq's to get it straight and bam, tone ready.

So for the mixer and headphone test, I ran a line from the phones out to my mixer and hard panned the left-right chingies and hooked up my pedal board. Nailed that wall of amps sound I have been trying to get with the Johhny Marr Clean preset, a Digitech Grunge pedal, EH Stereo Memory Man and the EH Cathedral.

This thing is going to give me a lot of flexibility and creativity for recording songs. It just sounds good in the headphones and that is what I have been looking for. Now I can blast away at all hours and not have to wake the neighbors up across the street to lay down that wailing solo or heavy backing rhythm...

Update 1.

Well I was trying to track a song by using just the headphone jack out straight to the mixer. Got the rhythm track done and looped. Practicing on a lead part for about ten minutes and the display went white and now it will not power up at all. Had the speaker output jacks hooked up to an extension cab, but with the headphone line out plugged into my mixer the speaker outs were disabled.

Anyone know if their is an internal over load fuse in this thing? Had the gain and volume on about 4 and the master was on 7...
