Does FUSE use MIDI for its instruments?

What instruments are on the included backing tracks?

Using my guitar, can I record bass, piano, saxophone, etc. tracks with any of the software that comes with the Mustang III/IV and/or G-DEC 3's?

I have a Mustang I so the G-DEC may be different.

I don't think FUSE does anything with MIDI but it will play audio backing tracks.

My Mustang came with a light version of Ableton live which will record/play audio and midi. There's no provisions for converting guitar to midi. You'll need to supply your own way of doing this. There are lots of alternatives from a full blown guitar synth to something simple and monophonic like a Sonuus g2m or I2m. Exaclty what you need depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

I hope that helps.

FUSE uses all live performances/mp3's.

The original G-DEC series used midi tones for its jamtrax.

The 'backing tracks' downloadable for the Mustangs from the Fuse site are just standard MP3 (and/or wav ?) files, and can therefore be played completely without Fuse, with any computer based media player, e.g. Windows Media Player. You could even burn them to disk and play them that way if you wanted to - might be quite handy for practice while away from your computer.

Even within Fuse, while you can view the Mustang backing tracks in the Fuse library page and start and stop them from the Fuse interface, they dont actually play back through your amp, but through your computer's sound system. (You can of course feed the computer's sound output to the amp's aux input if you really want to use the amp speaker to hear the tracks).

Depepat is correct. Fender FUSE doesn't have any MIDI functionality when a Mustang is connected. However, the G-DEC 3 series does play MIDI tracks and FUSE can import them.

If I use this amp as an audio interface via usb, for example with windows movie maker to make a video of myself playing a cover, will a backing track (an mp3 through the auxiliary imput...) will be recorded too, together with the guitar sound?
Thanks!

...sorry for my English...

Hey kobayashimaru,

Unfortunately, the signal from the AUX in isn't going to pass through to the USB out.
