So tonight is the night that I get to see how this baby sounds and holds up in a live setting.

We'll be playing with an incredible female vocalist (think somewhere between the old bluesy Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi) a bass player and myself. So I'll be pretty naked up there. No drums, 2nd guitar player or harmonic (that would be my full setup). So I really need to nail this one tonight with some nice warm tones and great playing.

My setup tonight will basically be my new trust Fender Pawn Shop Series Mustang Special, the Mustang II amp and my BOSS ME70 for my effects/pedal board.

I don't use many effects, but what I will use will be:
-I'm using the Fender '63 Reverb from the amp (no other effects from the Mustang II)
-A Natural OD setting from the ME70 (only on one song for a little extra dirt)
-I'm using the Tweed PreAmp setting on the ME70 for a little extra grit and warmth in my "clean" sound (I never really go for completely clean sounds - think SRV - Clean, but not to clean)
-And the Mustang II is setup using the '57 Deluxe

I tried and compared getting a little extra dirt on my "clean" tone via both a little extra gain on the Mustang II (with a little EQ tweaking) verses using the Tweed PreAmp settings from the ME70. I'm sure I've still got a lot to learn to get exactly what I want out of this amp (mainly nice bluesy warm tones), but I think I'm set for tonight's gig just by using the ME70 and Mustang II.

This will be one of the least expensive live rigs I've used in a long time, but I already had the BOSS pedal for my BASIC effects (like I said, I really don't like to use many effects, but the BOSS has a few that work well for me: Wah, OD, Uni-V, etc.), and the Mustang II was both inexpensive and LIGHT (yup, at age 40 I care A LOT about keeping my rig simple and LIGHT... I'm done with big, heavy and extensive setups... makes me hate getting ready for and tearing down a gig... I'm very much a plug and play kind of guy at this point in my life).

Well I'll try to post a little feedback on how it goes tonight. I'm "lucky" that this gig will have a ton of my musician friends who are all very honest with what they thought, and I'll definitely get some feedback on how tonight sounded.
