This thing sounds great! I had Sweetwater send it to my school. After playing with it at school for a while I brought it home and got it setup. Not a hint of fizz at all!

New firmware update and restore of presets that I saved for my MIV to Fuse.

Not quite as full of a sound as my MIV, but completely acceptable. I got the 4 button switch too, so it is easy to switch around to the preset I need when playing live.

Next is gonna be the MV and cab.

So you have a 3 and 4, and you're going to get a 5?
Why don't you take all that money and just get a good tube amp, or something else a little different?

Don't get me wrong, I like the Mustangs, but would never buy 3 varaiants of it.
I also have Boogies, other Fenders and a Marshall... Variety is the spice of life, and the key to LOTS of differing quality tones...

I have 4 great tube amps, a Marshall DSL 100 watt stack, a Fender Limited Edition Hot Rod Deluxe with Vintage 30, a Weber 6M45 (Plexi clone I built) with 2x12 cab loaded with Vintage 30s and a Weber 6M18TMB (Bluesbreaker clone I built) with 2X12 cab loaded with Vintage 30s, and 2 pedal boards, each loaded with 15 pedals each. Plus a few other pedals that I just keep around because.

Why so many Mustangs? I digress. I have a Vox Valvetronix VT50 that I used to love. I teach music at 2 elementary schools and use my electric in just about every class, every day. Well, someone messed around with my amp one night. I know this because when I got there in the AM the cords weren't hooked up the way I hooked them up. I used an inline tuner and it wasn't hooked up. It started making a funny noise when I turned the amp on, 2 weeks later it was out of commission. Unfortunately is was 4 months after the 1 year warranty ran out and Vox wouldn't help me out. My tech said that it would probably cost more to repair it than it was worth, so it is collecting dust right now.

In comes the Mustang IV, as a replacement for the VT50. I need an SS amp when teaching. Why you ask. Well, a tube amp needs about 2 minutes to warm up. In those 2 minutes, my 30 1st graders would eat me alive. One flip of the switch on the Mustang and I'm ready to rock 'n roll. I love the tone so much I want to use the same amp at both schools. Since I'm no spring chicken, 59, it is easier for me to have a guitar and amp at each school. I also have a Vox AD30VT that I use at one of my schools. Since playing the VT50 and MIV, I'm not satisfied with what I am hearing out of the AD30VT anymore. I want to replace it with an MIII. The main reason I went with the Fender was the 5 year warranty. I also fell in love with the tones I am getting out of it.

Why a V as well? I play in the worship band at my church. I used to just leave everything set up all the time, amp and pedalboard. A couple of months ago someone stole one of the other guitarists amp, a Peavey Classic 50. So since then I have been tearing down every time I play. I hate that, but I like my equipment better. The 4X12 cab isn't something that will easily fit into a car, especially with the wheels, so I can leave that on stage. My pedal setup is much lighter now with the Mustang and the head will be light to move.

I may go back to playing one of my tube amps and one of my other pedalboards, but I am really loving the tone and ease of playing with the Mustangs.
