Just received a 'new' (mfg - Nov 2010) Mustang III, and am happy to report that it has no fizz issues. I think this is interesting, because it's the same Month/Year of manufacture as many that *DO* have the 'fizz' issue.

I used a few clean models, low gain, high volume, mid-master, no effects, and tested with a couple of my Strats and Les Pauls.

Had actually ordered it prior to reading about the fizz issue, and expected the worst, and was prepared to return it. Wouldn't have been a big deal, as I bought it on impulse as an 'upstairs' amp, to be used away from my studio.

Cool amp, I like a few of the presets, haven't spent much time deep editing, except to make sure everything works. Not going to replace my Boogie Quad Preamp rig, but great to have near the living room, or maybe a casual jam session.

Note to the folks with fizz.... Check your house power, and/or try the amp in a place where the wiring, etc is new... also, mess with your noise gate... I have a feeling that those 2 factors impact folks with poor power and/or noisy guitars that the gate is struggling with.

Hm, seems like more recent purchases have been fizz-free. A running change?

Take it back. Part of the charm of these models is the fizz. The other guys have "tube warmth" - we have "fizz."

Hang on to those fizzers, they're going to be worth a fortune someday.

Well, keep in mind that mine has a manufacture date sticker of November 2010.... So not really a new build.... is a matter of fact, it's the same month/year as most of the "Fizzers".

Starting to wonder if it's power source and noise causing a problem with the noise gate.

The fizz that most people on the fizz thread are talking about only happens when you are playing, not during silence. Take a listen to the audio samples on the first page. A gate will only clean up under a certain db threshold, usually hum and buzz and fizz between notes (unless used as a cut-off effect when used heavily). And the fizzing amps have been tested with power conditioners, multiple locations, power filters, APC USB, etc., with no change in fizz quality. Try getting a clean 57 deluxe and play a low E. If you don't hear anything strange, then it has to be hardware and got a good one.

EDIT: By the way, if anyone is listening on laptop speakers, don't cry foul unless you actually have some real speakers on! Audiences don't hear performers through laptop speakers.
