I'm curious what the ratings are all about, how does one rate a preset? Is this something a person could read? Or is it tied into the amount of downloads for that particular preset?

Well..at the present time, it appears that the 'Link' is broken, whenever anyone tries to Rate a preset  It's been this way for some time..not sure why the Host wont fix this link so we can resume our ratings for Presets

Non the less...I think the rating is just what it looks like...5 Stars...and what would any of us rate a certain preset after sampling it on a scale of 1-5 stars
:P

So basically, it just is a rating of accuracy . . . in the mind of users. In other words I think this is a good preset type of thing. I don't think that's very valid unless all the fields of information are filled in, I mean any preset is good in it's own right. it's only rateable for a certain purpose if the purpose is stated . . . if you know what i mean.

I fully agree  All fields should be filled in..more or less stating what was trying to be acheived and what tweaks were used to try and obtain this specific sound. However..it seems that very few Uploaded presets provide any info/insight in to the Preset itself other than the obvious title. I posted about this the other day if you saw my Post, addressing this very issue

I had not considered the "accuracy" parameter in many of the ratings I've given. If I like it, I'll give it a high rating. Often though, I have no clue how it's supposed to sound, even if I've heard of the band or song hinted at in the preset name.
I suppose I should mention that in the comment.

New-but-related question:
The preset "Fixx 2 ompression" by ssmith had no ratings. I really like it, so I gave it one.

Your Rating
You rated this preset 5-Stars

If I was the only one to give it a rating, then what happened to the other 0.7 stars?

I love when you see ONE download and a 4.3 Rating.

I for one avoid Presets that don’t have a description. I’m sure I’ve missed many a good preset but I think you should at least scribble down what you were going for. Pickups, guitar used also help. I try to make it a point to put what my Master Volume is set to on my amp and what pickup I’m set to (Bridge, Neck etc.). Presets sound very different if the MV is down. IMO.
