Just curious about using a BOSS FS5U with the Mustang II.

Does anyone know if this would work with the Mustang II for channel switching or is there something special about using the Fender FTSW?

I was looking at buying the Mustang III, but may just end up going with the II and using my BOSS FS5U to help make this a 2 channel amp. I also have a BOSS ME70 that I'll be using in front for my additional FX (i.e.: Comp/Boost, OD, Uni-V, Delay, Wah, etc.).

Thanks for any help.

Any single button, on/off type footswitch will work with the Mustang I and II amps, allowing you to change between two pre-selected presets (but that's all - you have to choose and set the two presets to be switched in advance, so you can't go up and down through all the presets or anything more complicated). So, for example, if you were playing live, you could have one preset for rhythm playing, and switch to another for lead.

I had that same Boss footswitch - couldn't get a Fender one - with my MII and it worked fine.

Cool. Just picked up the M2 yesterday and used it at band practice today. I'll have to play with it the next few days to dial in my favorite tones, but liking it so far.

I'm confused, correct me if I am wrong please:

Unlatching footswitch like the BOSS FS5U: Need to keep the foot pressing it while in action.

Latching footswitch like the BOSS FS5L: works like one step on it to change to a second preset and one click again to desingage and go back to the first effect.

?????

Yes. The switch acts as a circuit bridge or short. When it closes the circuit, the amp will switch to the "RED" saved preset. When the switch opens the circuit, it will switch to the "GREEN" saved preset.
