I was thinking that I won't need a 412 at every occasion, so it would be pointless.

So, I was thinking of running 4 x 112's from my Mustang 5. They are 16 ohm each, so I could have many setups...

Would it harm the amp if it was 8 ohms on one side, 16 ohm on the other? The cabs would get equal power due to the mismatch.

Thanks

Hey Squidgy,

I would advise against having mismatched loads on the Mustang V's outputs. You can cause damage to the amp and possibly your cabinets as well.

Just out of interest, how would it damage it? As long as the sides are subjected to 8 ohms minimum each, shouldn't it be fine?

If that's not the case, would a 16 ohm resistor parallel with the speaker suffice to produce an 8 ohm load?
