Thanks guys. I have changed some of the cabs and the like. I didn't get into full details. I don't like the 4x12 g cab. I use the v 30 cab. I also messed with the sag on some presets. I have to try your suggestions a bit more.

Yes, I am disappointed at the sounds, because there are so many of them it will take me a lifetime to explore them all--and I already have a day job and a family I like to hang out with!

I have a Mustang II, and I'm really pleased with it. I have been considering selling it to upgrade to a III or IV, simply to get the extra controls, FX loop, flexibility with settings and the expanded footswitch.
Great amp, at any price.

Oh, +1 on working with Fuse to get the sounds you want, especially for all you new owners.
It has taken me awhile with messing with Fuse to get the tones I want, but now I have the presets set up with more sounds that I like than I really need (I don't really need a cranked up Marshall tone, but I've got one!).
Get a Mustang, hook it up to Fuse, and you'll find a huge universe of possibilities.

Love my Mustang IV. Best amp I've ever owned. Period - 'nuff said.

Same here... By far, the funnest AMP I've ever owned. Sure, I can get one punchy incredible sound from a really good sounding TUBE AMP, (but that's it, the End).

Now, with these magical Mustangs, they deliver every other mood of sound and an almost endless journey of different world(s) a TUBE AMP can't come close too.. (less u have about $5,000 in pedal gear)... plus, they actually do a fantastic job mimicking certain valve/Amps. What gets me even further is HOW quiet they are.. with all the built in effects...and some noiseless pickups...I'm set for life ..thanks to Fender 2012 ! ...yaya 2010/11 ....twelve sndz better

+1 on not needing to emulate any specific toob amp: who cares? It's not about perfection, it's about incredible versatility and sounding GREAT. Mustangs let you build your own bespoke amps, never-before-heard I might add.

So when you get interviewed about your first album:

"We're here with Johnny Fudpucker...was that a Mustang III on those awesome tracks?"

"No, I was using a Johnny Fudpucker JTF45. You can't buy those, you have to build 'em yourself."

I can tweak mine on the MIII digital screen just fine. I use Fuse to able to sit away from the amp and tweak from the PC.

Just used it tonight at practice instead of taking my DRRI and pedal board. Played all night on the 65 DR model with the pedal compressor to give some boost. Man this thing sounds great.

Well that's the irony: with all the incredible possibilities in this amp, I find my RGX A2 loves this one '57 Twin-based preset some user built and I tweaked a little and if I roll off my guitar volume I can clean it up for rhythm or crank for leads and basically...I'm done for the night.

So it can build 50 great tones for a cover band guy.

Or one awesome tone for a blues guy. And this tone, I'm not sure I could buy this tone for any price. It's my tone, not some burned-out rockstar's clonetone that 50 million other guys use.

Mustang: the return of the rugged individual in an age of Borg-minded conformity and manufactured consensus.

I think that's one thing that some folks lose when working with modeling gear - instead of trying to come up with a sound that is their own, they spend all of their time trying to find sounds that emulate what they've heard from other famous players. One of the ways those people got to be famous was they had their own sound.
I really enjoy messing around with Fuse and the settings, but it occurred to me the other day that there are about three presets on my amp that would cover everything I need, and they are tones that I built from the ground up.

Hello,

Happy MII owner here ... I only own two amps, a Roland Micro Cube and the Mustang II. Needless to say, the MicroCube doesn't get much use anymore!

I have three set up on the 4 button switch. Last night I started on a Bassman, about half way through switched to a 65 DR and stayed there the rest of the night. Both are set up to roll off the volume and clean up. Which my MIII does better than any modeling I've every tried. You could take away everything but the Fender models and this thing would still be a beautiful sounding steal.

I don't buy this talk: "I sold all my tube amps because the Mustangs sound so good."! My A/B-test with my M5 vs.SF PR, SF DR and JCM800 2203 reveal what is lacking in the Mustangs - presence. The modelling is not even 50% close to the originals and no matter how much you tweak you cannot get the warm presence and thickness that is so typical for good tube amps. And the feel and responsiveness is not even close. Playing the M5 feels like the sound is somewhere THERE far away, it should be HERE :)
But what should we expect from amps of this price range?!

I am unsatisfied because I got excited from the hype here in January / February. Also, because I am spoiled of having such great tube amps already. I needed a cheap backup placed in a different city and the M5 fills the bill but doesn't make me organize a parade.

If there are no massive updates coming up I will sell the amp away and enjoy my originals.

Happy sound hunting to everyone!!

That's ok, he's not selling your precious tube amps, he's selling his. That way he can be happy with his sounds and you can be happy with yours.
