Mustang III bought brand new yesterday. Very unsatisfied because it "fizzes" quite badly. Will most likely return it and go shopping for a different brand today.

EDIT: I actually returned my first Mustang 3 and got another one from another store with a manufacture date of 072011. The fizz on that one was very mild and you really had to know what to listen for to notice it. That said, the "Data Wheel" was defective and only worked once in about 10-15 presses so without Fuse connected, there was no editing presets or dialing in your own sound. I got a refund and moved on.

Conclusion: All these amps are cheap, Chinese junk. Good luck getting one worth keeping and having it last any reasonable length of time.

I like it but I really hate the fizz. That's one reason I don't really recommend the mustangs on UG forum. The fizz is pretty annoying and the fact that Fender isn't really doing much about that or the wah problem is frustrating.

I am sorry to her about the Fizz issues...there are at least two other active threads addressing the same thing. I heard a couple of audio examples posted and if my new amp did that I would be seriously pissed off. Hang in there and lets hope that the issue is resolved....there was survey link posted by anther user and it was at 50/50 for fizz/non-fizz on the MIII. It's a little troubling because I love my MIII and will recommend it to anyone who will listen.

So do i mortalengines. I really love this AMP and i recommend it to all my friends also.

About the survey, it needs more time to be relevant.
I also assume that people with no problem wont even come to post in. So, not sure that we will be able to make conclusion on it.
But we need to wait.
What is sure is that it started 5 days ago, and only 16 peoples have voted for a fizzing amp.
That is not very much at that moment, especially if you compare it to the size of the "FIZZING thread".
But again, i think we need to wait for 1 or 2 month to read it carefully.

The size of the "Fizzing thread" is inversely proportional to the
quality of the response Fender gave to the fizzing problem. The
thread could have been a lot shorter.

The size of the "Fizzing thread" is directly proportional to the inadequacy of Fender's response to the fizzing problem. Fender acknowledges the problem but refuses to inform its customer base on what that problem is and has taken the position that fizzing is a design property of the amp. I suspect lack of informative disclosure is on the advice of corporate legal hacks. There was a time, before corporate lawyers, that companies did the right thing without a class-action lawsuit. The alleged logic, as near as can figure, is:
Buy an amp, sounds good.
Later, amp starts to sound bad.
Vendor agrees that sound is bad and argues that bad sound is normal and part of design spec.

Frankly, I'm not all that interested in whoever has an amp that doesn't fizz. Even most of those agree that if their amp did fizz, they would not like it at all. The fact that some of them fizz, sometimes after some period of time, means that failure to make it right is a breach of warranty and there is real and identifiable harm to the consumer.
