How do I upload sound files?

You have to join some audio file hosting site, post your clip there, and then post a link here.

Basic service is free and easy to get started.

You can try:

But there are others too.

Edit:( yes, youtube works too.)

That must be the "subtle" fizz that some folks talk about. And maybe that's the kind of fizz Fender was responding too while they ignored the really bad fizz. While I think I hear the same type of "flanging?" sound underneath it all it's no where near as bad as what some folks have posted.

Thanks for the recording, it's good to have more samples to compare with each other. It will also be interesting to see how folks respond to this recording.

Am I correct in understanding that you don't notice this while you're playing?

John

Hi John, I can hear it while I'm playing, I guess I've just ignored it hoping there will be a fix, it also differs in volume day to day and what guitar I'm using.
I spent a lot of time on the M3 because it held so much promise for so little money but unfortunately yesterday's recording session has finally proven to me that the M3 is not going to work for me.
I think i've said here in another thread that imo the Mustang series is a great, fun amp for mucking about with in your bedroom and I still believe that.

Cheers.

At least there's a fix now. Caused by bad power supplies.

I feel bad for you and hear your frustration. I listened to your recordings and didn't hear the fizz until the section w/ guitar alone. Nice tone otherwise! You might press for a warranty repair on the power supply/speaker replacement, given recent info herein. I wouldn't give up just yet - it is a delicious sounding amp, as your recording clearly demonstrates. Whatever you decide, best of luck. Perhaps you can return and get your money back for now and then re-consider the Mustang at a later date, in case the fizz issue has been addressed to your satisfaction.

Tell Fender to replace the power supply with a good one. Not rocket science.

If it was as simple as a power supply, I would have thought that this would be one of the first things that Fender would have looked at. This would be a relatively quick and inexpensive fix that I am sure they would have no problem doing for those that have this problem.

Chinese power supplies can be dodgy at the best of times. For anyone that has this problem, it might not be a bad idea to take your amp to a certified Fender repair agent and ask them if they think this is a probable cause and maybe get it exchanged for a quality power supply to see if this resolves it. If it does, then the Fender community has got the ammunition to make Fender act on this.

The down side is, that you may have to pay for this repair out of your own pocket, but if you truly love this amp, it's probably worth it.

Well it turns out I'll be gigging with my M3 this weekend so I'll be interested to see how it goes.
I'll let you know!
Cheers

Well the M3 performed great at the gig, sat on my 65 deluxe setting at about 5.5 on the master, kicking in the overdrive for lead boost and delay when needed on the footswitch. Country stuff, Waylon, Merle, Johnny Cash, George Strait etc.....Medium sized room, 200-250 people.
You cannot hear the fizz at all in the live situation.....
Still dont know if I'll keep it though :?

Hey LaCab

I use the 65 and Bassman models mostly. Try using the compressor for a little boost too.

Hey Stinger,

Yeah I have one preset with the overdrive for boost and another for the compressor to boost.
If I decide to keep the M3 I'll probably add the 4 button switch.
2 more gigs and it will have paid for itself anyway!!!

OH get the 4 button for sure. I still play live with my DRRI and pedalboard, but for practice and home the M3 with the 4 button does just fine.
