Why?

Guitar store...Wholesale price $750 plus 100% mark up.....'$1500
Walmart....Wholesale price $750 plus 33% mark up...$1000

I buy most of my staples at Walmart, Can of Heinz beans is 40% cheaper than the same can in our local grocery store.

My wife and I are professionals with no children. Somewhat well off. We still shop around.

Well, if you happen to know of a better quality product offered at the same price I'd love to hear about it.

I think that's what it comes down to. There may be better quality products out there, but when you compare the competition (apples to apples), the Mustangs are hard to beat despite whatever flaws they might have.

sure man, for the same price and without the fuzz you can get a vox, a line 6, a marshall, an ibanez, a roland... should I keep going? those brands aren't even that great. if fender can make a crazy amp at a good price then good for them but if its crappy at a cheap price its still junk
