4 weeks and I am still waiting for feedback on my Mustang III I sent for repairs...and the tech still has not heard from Fender...really nice. Now I get that bullshit anouncement.

Well, They won`t be offering me anything, ever. I was in the market for a Strat, if they say I am just a "discerning listener", then I'll be discerning that Fender won't be getting any money from me. If 99$ Mustang I can play great without a single artifact, why the hell do I have to put up with fizz land? Oh, right...I am just a "discerning listener" which a fancy way to say I am just an $@!&#*% client.

The "discerning listener" says farewell, when I eventually get my Mustang III back, hopefully in 2011, I'll take my losses and go buy a Carvin Bolt instead of a Strat and possibly something like a POD HD for modelling, I hear they are free of "under certain combined conditions, using certain settings and playing techniques, an artifact can be produced".

Corporate Wankers, Leo Fender is probably banging his head on a wall right now.

That sounds like a wise choice to me.

This reminds me of the time a few years back when Fender thought they were such hot s*** they could just raise all their prices across the board by 20%, universally outraging customers worldwide.

Then of course they had to come back 18 months later with their tail dragging between their legs and drop their prices back 20% again after taking a massive hit on sales, loyal customers having abandoned them in droves.

It's a huge global company increasingly run by ethics-free hustlers in suits and thieves carrying fancy briefcases.

Welcome to predatory capitalism 101. It ain't the soul of Leo Fender inhabiting FMIC in Scottsdale, it's the rotting corpse of J.P. Morgan.

Well, Fender are still idiots for issue such a bullshit statement but I got a call today, the amp if finally ready and "fixed".

I've been playing it for the past 3 hours and the fizz is completely gone. I did my IT guy geek curious act and I found out the serial# on the speaker is not the same so they changed it, and the tech changed the power supply unit since he measured (his words) "unacceptable readings". He concluded by telling me that we should not be playing clean with the gain higher than 3 on any amp ... as if I would play clean with the gain on 10...

Anyway, it seems this problem is fixable and most certainly hardware. We will see in 3 months how it turns out and if the problem comes back.

My advice, take the plunge on the warranty repairs and harass them since it seems that's what it takes to get an answers. The tech has been calling Fender every day for the past two week asking for instructions and authorization on repairs.

The Mustang series is a "Do Not Repair" unit. All swapouts. How did you get them to actually work on your amp?

Sucks that you had to stay in limbo for 4 weeks, but it's very cool to hear that your amp is making you happy again.

PITA

Grow a set and learn how to play. Pull up your panties and play your guitar!

In other words, "Take what they give you and shut up".

That's not really growing a pair. is it?
