I love it!

I think they should just pull the whole Mustang forum down. It's degenerated into an absolute waste... people would still have FUSE to share amp settings, info, etc. There's a bunch of cry babies whining, posting multiple threads about the same thing, and otherwise ruining it for those of us not plagued by fizz (or who've actually spent enough time with the settings to get the best possible sound out of the amps). If you want a pristine sounding amp, you're probably going to have to drop more than $300 bucks on it. Another option... Fender could take a strictly communist approach... post something CONSTRUCTIVE or it just gets pulled. Many of us are sick of it... nut up and quit you're complaining.

Not that my amp fizzes but.. I'd rofl big time to see you in a month, complaining that your amp fizzes.. I'd then definitely give you the "pull up your panties!" attitude, and I'd hope that the official Fender dealer where you bought the amp gives you the same kind of attitude as well.

I suggest you just skip over the fizzy threads and just read the ones that interest you. No need for you to give the fizzys a second thought.

Listen to this sound file, courtesy of baerashbrewer on soundcloud.com

As notes decay you can hear the fizz in the background.

When the amp fizzes it's perceived differently by different people, probably because of all the variables involved. But in general, if the fizz is present, it can best heard on clean amp settings as notes decay. It's heard easiest on the lower strings but often can be heard on all notes on all strings. Fact is, the more ya listen, the more ya hear, so many users also report they can also hear the fizz when dirty presets are used.

Just set up a clean setting, play slow and listen ... let the notes decay. If there's a fizz problem with the amp ... it'll be evident.

Is there anyone who listens to that clip and doesn't hear the fizz?

Personally, I find the fizz discussion quite entertaining.

I'm not sure why (as someone else suggested) those who are aggravated by the fizztalk don't just skip over it. Maybe there is something I've missed that is especially offensive, but even then-skip over it.

I've got my early 70s Strat running thru my Mustang I. I'm so use to the noisy Strat, I haven't zeroed in to see if my amp is fizzy, or if it's the strat, or both.

:D

I don't think the Mustang I has the real bad fizz that people complain about.

My Mustang I doesn't have it. If I uses the compressor pedal at certain settings I can get some fizzy sounds as the notes die out but that's a whole different thing and nothing I would complain about, I just don't use the compressor pedal.

From what I can get out of these threads it's only some of the Mustang IIIs and up and have the bad fizz. The other amps are "bad fizz" free.

Does anyone have a Mustang I with the "bad fizz?"

All this useless drivel about fizz is kinda annoying. I mean, sure, I could just suck it up and deal with it... except it as an anomly perticular to this forum. After all, this is a really great forum and the meaningless banter and insults is just a minor thing that's only annoying to some people but not everyone. So I should just live with it right?

See what I did there?

On a serious note: Mod's please do something about the trolls and the spam.

@ johnjaypl

The Mustang I and II are not immune to the fizz problem.

I purchased an MII at the time of their introduction last year ... back then the MIII to MV were not on the market. Almost immediately fizz reports started coming in. Mine fizzed horribly. Luckily, Fender issued a software revision that fixed it for most folk ... but not everyone. So ... yeah ... I think there are owners of MI's and MII's that have a fizz problem ... some may be fixed by a software update ... some may not.
