hey that looks like a job well done.

Could you please share where you bought the replacement parts and what part did you get?

The links to the site where i got the parts is in the thread higher up... The company that sells them has a minimum order of $25 so i bought 4 like the ones i installed and 4 which have a combination of steel, and black plastic on the outer edge. Both of them are stronger than the stock ones, but i like the look of the all metal plug housing.

I thought 1/4" was the way to go... :|

The 1/4" metal jacks would have been the right way to do it, then fender should have included 2 adaptors that converts 3.5mm to 1/4".

1/4" is the way to go, but rather than carve up an amp case, i went with the path of least resistance. These are board mounted metal jack housings that are stronger than the stock chintzy plastic housings. They should hold up much better than the stock ones

This is exactly why I got a brand new replacement amp for simply a broken jack.

If you paid for the warrenty, then use it!

Yep,... and then they could continue to upgrade all of the other components and guess what???? The amps cost 4X as much. It is what it is for an affordable amp that is a blast to play. I will buy another if a jack breaks but I avoid repetitively plugging in stuff even on all of my expensive tube amps. Call me green but every time I fire up one of my tube amps I think about all of those light bulbs (tubes) going on and off. Makes me never want to practice or play for a little bit. Capiche!

When touching feels 'icky', it's hard to know what to do. :?

I guess I shouldn't complain too much, but I broke the headphone jack on mine as well. Guitar Center referred me to a local Fender authorized repair shop. It took me six weeks to get my amp back. Fender had the plastic rings backordered for over a month, then two more weeks for the backed up repair guy to get it done and back to me.

All that for a 3 cent plastic ring. Still, love the Mustang II.

You didnt just get a replacement amp?

Was it under warrenty? I guess mine was still under warrenty and I got a replacement in a week or so. But now I have my new amp, I'm not sure it's under warrenty or anything anymore, so if it breaks again, I dunno what to do.

Switch to a VOX modeler, probably

I had a similar experience. My local Guitar Center in SC had me ship my amp to a repair shop in NJ, which I had to pay for the shipping. And then it took them about a month to get the parts. And yes, I got my same amp back. My guess is they replaced the control board that the jacks are soldered on to. It was kind of a hassle but when I got my amp back I was happy. Until...

The same jack broke again! I have not gotten it repaired yet because I can still use the amp for what I need it for (can still stick a phone plug in there and wiggle it till I hit the sweet spot) and I don't want to go without for another month. If I do ship it to a repair center agian I will deal with Fender directly rather than Guitar Center.

But I'm seriously considering doing the amoxom mod. I really love my MIII and have no issues with it other than the broken jacks.

http://www.hardwarewebwinkel.nl/kabels- ... htmlquote="amoxom"]I found J-355W-C-NTeplacement headphone jacks from a store in california.... There are a few parts that will work in the mustangs.

http://www.connect-tech-products.com/in ... Jacks&id=2

The parts are the J-355W-C-I-09 or the J-355W-C-NT that have the same leg configurations, black surrounds, and two switches internally. One to power off the main speaker, and one for the headphones. Check the .pdf files for the information.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, its an easy fix.[/quote]

I just hve downloaded the pdf of these connectors. I noticed that these metal connector have the possibility to secure them with a nut. Will they stick out far enough of the control panel to secure them with a nut?

Like on the Fender Mini: Image

And with this usb adapter my usb port will be safe: http://www.hardwarewebwinkel.nl/kabels- ... 04446.html
