Sounds like a bad cable connecting your Boss ME-70 to the amp or a problem with the ME-70.

Either choose a clean amp like the fender twin.. gain down low volume around 4-5 all effects off and master volume at preferred level... or

instead of going through the input... plug into the the return jacks at the back of the amp.. you will need two cables. The Me-70 has 2 outputs... left and right...so..

left output from me70 to left return jack at back of amp
right output from me70 to right return jack at back of amp...

That's not what it was designed for. The Mustang I and II are self contained modeling/multi-effects amplifiers that are at the lowest range of the Mustang line. To call it a "rubbish amp" is completely unreasonable as there are very few amps (to me there are none) that sound better than it does at its price point. Maybe what you need is something like a Tech21 Power Engine 60 or the Mustang III which has an FX loop.

A rubbish amp is any amp that costs as much or more than the Mustang but can't do what the Mustang does or sound as good as it does. That is the very definition of rubbish.

O.

That's the problem with ordering online. Unless you understand the product completely, you get no help making sure it's what you want. Let the buyer beware! If you were working with a salesman who was supposed to recommend something based on what you told him, either he/she didn't listen well, do his/her job or you didn't explain well enough. Do you have a time window for returning the amp, since it appears it's not what you want?

I have an ME-25 and I don't have any issues using it with my MIII.

Works fine into the amp (e.g. for its stomp effects) and in the MIII's effects loop (e.g., volume pedal, wah pedal). Maybe you have a dud Mustang, or ME-70, or cables, you need to start troubleshooting the chain (do you have another amp you plug into to verify the signal arriving at the Mustang? Do things work fine when using the Mustang alone [no ME-70 but the same cables]? Etc.).

Someone else posted here about using an ME-70 as well, didn't report any issues either.

Why don't you try to hook up your boss me-70 using it's headphone output and then into to your mustangs aux input jack?you just need a male 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable and or if the me-70 uses a 1/4" headphone output just put a 1/4" stereo adapter plug on one end of the 3.5mm stereo cable. you can also use your me-70's left or right 1/4" output and go into your mustangs guitar input jack but you also have to select one of the fender clean amp models so that you can get a good tone from your boss me-70.

On my ME-25, I can bypass the amp modelling entirely, so it can be used as a true "modeling stompbox" between the guitar and Mustang input (or for delays, volume, wah, in the effects loop). Supposedly, if you plug something into the headphone out (even a dummy plug), it will apply speaker/cab simulation to all the outputs, otherwise not (ditto for ME-70). I believe the L/mono output will sum if there's nothing in the right output jack.

I often use the Mustang's aux in for "parallel amp" effects, with a Y-cable going into the Mustang and ME-25, or sometimes to loop a chord progression from the ME-25 to other amps, then turn down its volume to 0 [or not] and crank up the Mustang's volume to solo over it.

HTH,

PITA
