Hey guys,
I just ordered an Eminence Patriot Series Cannabis Rex for the MII and is on its way. Hopefully it'll be a good match for the MII's modeling engine. It's ridiculously efficient at 102db@1W/1M(!) so I should at least get a lot more headroom from the amp.

Polishbroadcast, I will attempt a recording before and after I swap out the speakers and post it on Soundclick. Stay tuned.

O.

:D I want the II but worried it would sound boxy. Looking forward to your review.

Have you played one yet? To me, most 112 combos have a midrange boxiness. The big difference is really in whether it's an open back cabinet or closed. In some open back combos, the loss of low end coupled with an incorrect speaker choice can really make it boxy. The II's main problem is that "pinched" sound... maybe that's what you're thinking of as boxy. For its size, there's plenty of low end but it was actually the mids that were really helped by opening up the back. It sounds "airier" and less "pinched". Just don't expect it to have the thump of a 412. I find that thump overbearing personally and try to leave that part of the spectrum to the bass player. It's fun when you're playing by yourself but it mucks up the sound when you're with the whole band.
