I brought this up months ago and didn't see a response from Fender, so I thought I'd try again.

There's a weird sound/drop in volume when switching patches in the Mustang IV that's particularly noticeable when you're going from a clean to dirty/distorted sound. So this makes it UNUSABLE in a live situation if you want to change guitar tones during a song. Before anyone trashes what I'm saying, just pick a song like Enter Sandman for an example. Play the opening clean part and then switch to a distorted patch when it kicks into the heavy part. You will see that it sucks. If not, then you'll need you ears examined.

How could Fender miss this during the testing phase? Please Alan, Loren, or Brad, address whether or not this flaw will eventually be remedied with new firmware.

Well the point is to go from one type of sound to a different type of sound. Mine does the same thing, it makes a very pronounced zzzoooiiiinnggg! It's just a small annoiance to me, as I don't gig with the amp, but it would be great if they could fix it.

I don't think that a firmware update is going to fix this issue. I believe that Fender's modeling algorithm is really pushing the processor and it's having a tough time changing all the parameters between models. When I listen to each of the models, there's so much complexity in the sound that I've not heard in other modelers before - especially in the mildly overdriven sounds but even the clean sounds are complex sounding. To me this is where most modelers fall apart so for now, I'm willing to adjust my channel switching habits to accommodate the amp's limitations. For my needs, it sounds too good for me to get hung up about a momentary quirk such as this. I'm sure it will improve in future models.

Hey Guys,

The preset switching time has been addressed in a firmware update. Are you sure you have the latest firmware on your amps?

Regarding the zzzzoooing, that will be addressed in a future firmware update.
