 It's not a bug, it's an effect! Interesting findings.

Do you think this will fit in the chassis with a little hot glue?

If you have an authentic vintage Mustang with fizz it's not an "effect" but a "characteristic". Someday there will be "pre fizz fix" amps along with the less desirable "post fizz fix" amps. Date codes and such will be checked. Hang on to your fizzers because the price can only go up. And if the right person uses fizz in their music there's no telling how much fizz demand there will be. I've already read some posts where people seem to be embracing their fizz. And that's when the demand for fizz clones will kick in. And for those who have other amps, Fizz pedals. I can see the add now. Add Mustang III fizz to your Vox AC30. Someone needs to come up with names for the different types of fizz that different amps produce so you can dial in the fizz you're looking for. And Fizz pedals are going to be important for even folks that have Fizzers because it's not clear how servicable these amps are.

Considering I have a 300$ big unusable big paper weight, the only thing that comes to mind right now is:

F*** you.

The fizz is loud on mine, very loud.

Moron....have it replaced under warranty and stop whining.

The moron tells you that that's exactly what I did and I am still waiting for Fender to pull their head out of their $@! since they told the tech not to fix it...it's been two weeks and the tech still does not have any answers from Fender and does not have the authorization to replace it and Fender is not giving him any indication on when or if it's going to be authorized.

So I am not only pissed at the fizz issue but also at Fender customer support and warranty repair policies and processes. So no I am not exactly inclined to laugh about the situation and reading smart $@! comments like yours pisses me off even more.

It was a joke. johnjaypl has done nothing but contribute good information to all of these threads and he doesn't even have the issue.

Fizz you? -- maybe not.

Sorry about your amp. We're just having a bit of a laugh.

Actually, I've come to find out that I'm not even close to understanding what's going on. It turns out that the real problem is that the more fragile harmonics can only survive in a vacuum tube, they get squashed in a solid state crystal lattice. I guess my Mustang I didn't get the memo. But it must be true, it's from DR. D.
himself.

I enjoyed it. I fully expect that to be the conversation on TGP in 10 years.

That Dumble clip blew my mind, for multiple reasons.

Guess the joke's on us. Fender now says we should expect it to make bad noises because it's a cheap amp. Wish they had informed us about that BEFORE we bought it!

"This amazing amp has a large number of great models, and because we made it dirt cheap, it's going to make this annoying fizzing noise rendering it unusable! Not only that, we're going to blame you for hearing it. Fender...rhymes with...surrender."

You'd think they at least would have to do the same truth in advertising pharmaceutical companies do: "Usage of this amp may result in terminal fizzing and inability to sleep at night having wasted $300. Consult your attorney before buying this product."

So ... via ... viewtopic.php?f=27&t=59203 ...

Fender ... Loren Howard ... and the Fender Tech Support Lab ... just gave everyone who has the fizz problem the "bird".

Fender is right about one thing though ...we are "discerning" ... "discerning" enough to know when we've been fleeced ... "discerning" enough to never buy a Fender product again and "discerning" enough to encourage other people to never buy a Fender product as well.

Way to go Fender ... keep it up ... misrepresent your products ... screw your customers ...

This was sent to Loren Howard.

I fortunately don't have the fizz problem on my Mustang IV (mostly tried clean sound though, when I was experimenting if it does appear on my MIV today), but I bought the amp 4 days ago and as some have said it - it gets worse over time. Hopefully that's not the case with my amp. I use a Gibson Les Paul studio with humbuckers, volume on guitar always turned to max on both magnets.
However there is a fuzzy sound that I can't lose when trying to get a nice, warm driven sound. Maybe it's the same thing, but I doubt it. Seeing how many people are basically screwed and the reaction from Fender - I am very disappointed by them. Expected more from Fender.

Fender really screwed the pooch on this.

#1 There's no way now I'm ever going to upgrade my MII to the III...no way at all. I can't risk it.

#2 Any quitar player who knows the first thing about buying amps, and is looking for a new modeling amp, and does his homework first before buying by looking for reviews such as the posts in these "fizz"er threads...well, bottom line, there ain't no way that guitarist is going to get a III either.

Fender should have done an exhaustive quality control check on the III before releasing it, and because they didn't, this will hurt them pretty bad in the end on the III...

I imagine the memo from Loren was not written by him--but was done by somebody up the ladder who was trying to do damage control...however, it ending up only being a slap in the face to those who invested in the Fender name but didn't get the Fender music.

If Fender really wanted to do the right thing they would "eat" the damage big time and make good to everyone who got bad III product, either by replacing with a good amp or refunding the money. Yeah, sometimes doing the right thing hurts a lot, but in the end you'll end up making more money. That ain't rocket science--it's just the truth.

It's called integrity, boys.

(I think I can hear the pulse of Vox's stock going up every minute on this one...)

It could be useful if anyone that's taking/taken the poll would also post the manufacture date and voltage of the amp (maybe country too) to see if we can find a pattern, and to help people trying to find a good one.

Added: Time since purchase would also be good info to have, as some people have said the problem wasn't there from day one.

As I said, bought the Mustang IV a few days ago and it's working normal - I'm from Slovenia, there are 230V running through our power grid and the amp is, of course as all Mustang IVs, 150W. Hopefully we really can find a pattern yeah.

Evidently ... the "Fizz" has indeed gone to your "Head" ... you're over doing the sarcasm. Do us a favor ... muzzle it and give us a break.
