So, here we are, 15 replies after I started this thread with hopeful intentions, and surprise, surprise, its gone the same as all the others on this subject and amply (no pun intended !) demonstrates the problems that are currently dragging this forum down - no attempt at moderation, and ABSOLUTELY no company response to consumer concerns on a forum that they themselves set up at least partly for that purpose.

Sorry you got the loud fizzy. I got the soft one. Unacceptable either way.

Loren just jumped in this am and addressed a 4-button issue. No mod management was done. No fizz was addressed.

This IS an official FENDER site where customers are encouraged to come and have interplay with Fender employees on a managed and moderated forum to solve product problems and have questions answered, is it not? Coulda fooled me...

See if you get get an official fender binkie!

I realise that I'm probably somewhat 'naive' from a certain viewpoint, but I do firmly believe that manufacturers would gain more respect and greater customer confidence if they were more open about these types of issue even if it's just to acknowledge the issue and to keep customers up to date with regards their work to try and resolve the problem.

If it is software related, it's reasonable to expect problems to be fixed at the next firmware upgrade (a big advantage as compared with other products that don't have upgrade facilities).

If it's hardware, then to at least identify the problem and reassure customers that the 'upgrade' will be in all new amps from a particular date.

You are not naive. On the contrary, you are absolutely correct. Thanks!

Hi all,

I'm a total amateur guitarist and a very happy Mustang I owner, and as such the fizz problem does not concern me. I think allmost all of the other modelling amps are focused on high gain and metal sounds, and that doesn't really interest me. The Mustang has succeeded in what others has failed, on that sweet spot between clean sound and when the sound starts to break.

I come to read the board now and then mainly because this is the fastest place to see if there are new firmware or updates to FUSE. The front page is full of headers about "the fizz". This can't be good for Fender's business, people thinking of bying new stuff tend to read all kinds of forums before bying (at least I do), and this is the official forum!

On the actual problem, I haven't heard a sample, but if the volume of "the fizz" stays the same regardless of the other amp settings, I would suspect that the problem lies in the power amp section of the amp.
