I have a question about the "volume" control on the Mustang V (not the master)

Does cranking the volume simulate the modelled amp being played at a louder volume (more breakup) or is it purely to even out between presets etc?

Thanks.

Since this is all digital, the only way to get more breakup is the Gain knob; volume does what you suggest, just sets the preset volume.

Hi, CharlesTY.

Not quite. On the non-master volume models like the Deluxe, cranking up the gain also cranks up the "virtual power tubes" and the Preset Volume is kind of like a power soak. On the amp models that would normally have a master volume like the British 80s, American 90s and the Metal 2000, you'll see it's "Master Volume" only if you click on the "Advanced Amp" button. It's to the left of the noise gate controls. You can crank this knob and get its "power tubes" saturated.
