I haven't been able to get usable sounds for playing live.
so I went in and boosted the volume of all my pre-sets.( I had cut the volume of all the distrorted pre-sets before..)
anyway............ NOW I seem to get a LOT better sound out of the amp and I'm only running the master volume at 3 or 4 instead of 7....does this make any kind of sense????? jmb

The tone quality output by these amps seems to be very responsive to the relationship between settings at all stages of the amplification process, so getting the balance right between gain, volume and the master control are critical to getting a good sound, for live playing or otherwise.

And I have also found that playing with the volume control on the guitar itself, in combination with the amp settings, also has a huge bearing on the tone. I now rarely have the guitar volume set above about 50/60%.
