Hi All,

I am new to the guitar world and to the world of amps. Been playing about 2 years. I recently started using an electric and bought the mustang 1 amp used. It worked well for 2 weeks, then all of a sudden, literally every channel that I switch to has a high high pitched squeal. Did the speaker blow? Any ideas what happened? Is it possible to fix?

Thanks all,

Craig

I should add to the above, it even squeals like that with headphones plugged in, whether the instrument cable is plugged in or out. It is constant.

Take it back to the dealer, Craig.

Have you tried different guitars &/or cables? Bad cables have caused squealing for me in the past!

I think you might have missed this.

Always worth trying a reset back to factory settings just in case there's a software filepath corruption causing the problem (an amp 'reboot' - just like with a computer - can sometimes cure a multitude of sins).

If that doesn't fix it - yup, send it back as everyone else has said.

Rich

Hey Craig,

This could either be a software or hardware issue. You may want to try a firmware update and a Preset restore. If those don't work, definitely get it to a service center.
