Last night I really got my hopes up. I entered the Mustang forum and immediately noticed a few more posts in the announcement section at the top of the page. Did Fender finally fix the fizz/digital aliasing (whatever you'd like to call it) and post a firmware upgrade? No, they posted advertisements for their new Blacktop basses and American Vintage guitars...

What a disappointment! Hey Fender, why don't you let us know what kind of progress you've made in solving the problems with the equipment (MIII) you've already sold us. I believe it would go a long way to have someone from Fender give us an update...this situation will not go away anytime soon.

Remember, YouTube is a wonderful avenue to both promote and discourage potential customers from purchasing products based on their performance...

No to mention that they posted the blacktop series promotion on a forum dedicated to Mustang Amps.

I want to see Fender respond to the fizz thing as much as anyone. But, to expect them to act as though they don't have new guitars until after they announce a fix on the Mustang III is a bit of a stretch.

I picked up on that too & posted a query, and (although I'm not quite sure why Brad said 'Nice, Rich lol' :?) he did kindly post a reply explaining it's an experiment that's going in the announcement section of all the forums - its a Fender forum so it's their prerogative of course:

Because they can't officially admit it due to legal and marketing issues. They could bring sales to a grinding halt by just admitting the issue, even if it does appear in a minority of amps.

A company like Fender is highly vulnerable to lawsuits and many other public relations issues. Thus a guy like Loren can't just come in here and admit what we all know to be true.

I have a III, have no fizz, but I'm sympathetic with the guys that do. I suspect Fender is working on first replicating the problem, then troubleshooting it, then devising a running fix and a retroactive fix for currently afflicted customers. But all that takes time.

Yup, exactly the same on the Vox forum. It's frustrating for customers, but you can understand Fender/Vox et als dilemma.
