You can certainly remove all effects, but you will still be left with the basic sound of one of the amp models - they cannot be turned off. These are modeling amps !

If you want a clean tone, probably best to use the twin reverb amp model as the starting point, with all effects off except maybe some reverb, and also hold the gain well down.

You can also turn off the speaker cabinet simulation. Also play with the tube bias and sag settings.

If you try the last eight presets on the MII you should have the clean amps with nothing on them. At least it is that way with the last 12 on my MIII>

On the MII all 24 presets that originally come loaded on the amp are 'effected' in some way - for some reason even the basic 8 'amber' starting-point presets on the II have added delay/reverb and sometimes a modulation effect as well.

However, via FUSE you can replace some of those 24 with the 12 un-effected amp model presets that are available on the III 'out of the box'. Somewhere on this forum there is a post with all 100 MIII presets available to download as a single zip file, and the MII can load any of them via FUSE.

Using FUSE with the II gives you access to 4 additional amp models that don't come loaded on the II out of the box. So even with a II, with FUSE you can access all of the same 12 amp models that are available on the III, IV and V.
