So, providing the cab in use is 8 ohms, can I just use my Mustang V with only one cab until I get a 412? I'm using my 115 bass cab at the moment.

Hey Squidgy,

You can use one output as long as the cabinet isn't less than 8ohms.

Ok, thanks dude.

Will there be a noticable volume drop using a 16 ohm cab?

I own an old Stage 100H and run it into a Fender DT412 cabinet and love teh setup as much as my Rivera Rake into an Avatar 2x12. Both cabinets are 8Ohm. So, a few questions:

1) I want to buy a Mustang V head and run it into the DT412. According to this thread that would be safe for the head, correct?

2) The DT412 had two inputs and I think it runs at 4Ohms with both plugged in. Is it a stereo cabinet? Can I plug that Mustang head into it in stereo? I was trying to find this info online but came here for a quick answer.

3) Can I run the Mustang head into the DT412 into the Avatar and the DT412? I don't think that would work in stereo, would it? The impedance woudl be off, correct?

Anyway, thanks for any input in advance.

Bob

The Mustang V requires that both of the inputs see no less than a 8 ohm load each.

Your cab may either be stereo, or have the 2 jacks parallel for daisy chaining cabs. If it is the second option, you will definitely ruin your Mustang V.

You say your DT412 is 4 ohm. That would indeed kill one side of your output stage if you ran the head into it.

Are you comfortable with soldering? If so, you could rewire your cab into "2 separate 2x12s in one" these groups would be 8 ohm each, with their own seperate jack.

Can you pull a driver speaker from your cab and tell me the Ohm rating for each speaker?

The speakers are G12T-100, rated at 16 Ohm each, I believe. It is 8Ohm load on one input, the other says 4Ohm if both are used.

In a worst case scenario I can rewire it the way I want. I was going to keep the Stage 100, which is an 8Ohm output, so I need the 8Ohm cab. I may end up just buying the combo (Mustang IV) or the half stack (Mustang V and matching cab). I just didn't want to have to make room for another amp in my guitar room, so I was trying to make it work with existing gear.

Thanks for any input.

If they are 16 ohm, wire the left "pair" in parallel and connect to only ONE jack. Do the same with the other side, keeping to two sides completely seperate. You can then use your Mustang V head with this cab.

You can then run an 8 ohm mono amp into one side, or two separate amps into the one cab. This could be useful if you are saving space on stage.

If you are wanting to use is as a 4 ohm cab, just connect the two sides of the cab externally.

Oh and by the way, 8 ohm cab + 8 ohm cab does NOT equal 16 ohms total. This can be catastrophic to your amp.

Any more questions, let me know.

Hello
I bought a Mustang V head and I would like to plug into a Harley Benton Cab 2*12 with 2 celestion V30 in 16 Ohms...
There is no sound when I plug the 2 inputs in my 16 ohm cab in a stereo way ..
It works only with one output with 8ohm
it's a pity to be able to use only one output instead of the 2 ??
Is there any problem with the amp ??? Thomann tell me to reset the amp and try again is it usefull ?
Thanks a lot for help

Is the cab definitely Stereo or does it simply have 2 inputs?
