Hey, all.

Anyone ever used one o' them Beam Blockers? I was also wondering if just opening the back of the amp to install one of these voids the warranty. Thanks.

Heard raves and heard it was a myth. Take a piece of cardboard and cut about a 3" circle and use some double contact tape and tape it onto the grill in front of the speaker cone. See if you can tell a difference.

Here is a link to my version of a weber beam blocker that i made for my vypyr 30 because it was harsh sounding in the higher frequencies(just scroll down to see a photo of it) but i would not put one in any of the mustang's because these amp's are not harsh sounding and sound much warmer and smooth sounding compared to the peavey vypyr's.http://forums.peavey.com/viewtopic.php? ... r&start=30

I don't think the Mustangs highs are harsh either, just a bit too intense when you're in the direct line of the speaker. I don't want to reduce it as much as diffuse it and even it out with the lower frequencies. I think this is why the actual Beam Blockers are dome shaped - to reflect the sound at the same angle as the speaker cone. I too am considering building one but I have to find something dome shaped or even cone shaped... like maybe a small funnel... or a bra... err... no. Anyone know about the warranty bit?

I would get a small plastic funnel around 4" in diameter and glue it to a cd like the one i made for my vypyr, cut off the spot and block the hole with cotton or fiber glass insulation, you can also fill the inside of the funnel with the cotton and or insulation.
