Just curious if anyone has tried this. The GDEC 3 Thirty comes with a few "acoustic" models. Would be great if they are transplantable to the Mustang IV. I'll get around to trying and report back if no one replies. Thanks!

OK, so in short the answer is no. GDEC 3 has models that are not provided on the Mustang IV (e.g. acoustic models), so they can't talk to each other. Pity, it would be easy for Fender to fix this.....

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your comments. I'm not sure how easy this process would actually be. These amps are two completely different pieces of hardware and software. But I will pass along your thoughts.

Best Regards,

Thanks Alan. I could gig out and show everyone how amazing this amp is if only I could get an acoustic tone too.

Hi bmoyer,

So, the concept here is that as a modeling amp, you should be able to get the same type of "clean" sound you could get with any of the physical counterparts of the virtual models. You will simply need to work with the channel gain, volume, tones, and other advanced settings as needed. I hope that is helpful information. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Best Regards,

Thanks, Alan. What I have achieved for plugging in an acoustic guitar is a poor man's acoustic amp, or full range/full frequency P.A., by using the AC-30 model with no cab, lowering gain and tweaking tone controls. But it still falls far short of an uncolored response. Would be great if one of Fender's acoustic amp models could be provided in a future update. Even if "sold" as part of a new pack of amps, such as Line6 has done in the past. I'd pay for it!
