Hi
Got the Mustang 3 yesterday and Im very pleased with it.
However, Im finding all the software that goes with it quite frustrating and time-consuming.

I have followed all the instructions and have the Ableton amp interface appear on my laptop screen. My guitar is attached to the amp and the amp connected to the USB of the laptop.
I have clicked on open audio, browsed and chosen a backing track from my files and it loads into the interface, but when I press play, although I can seen the needle move accross the screen as the track plays, there is no sound, or sometimes a hint of a crackle, but nil else.
If I click on audio setup in settings it says audio channel 1+2 not connected

I have no idea what Im not doing right.
Can anyone please help?

Thanks
Andy

The USB is one-way, FROM the amp to the computer. To get the sound to play through the amp from backing tracks, plug an eighth inch stereo plug from the headphone/speaker out jack on the computer into the aux in eighth inch jack on the Mustang.

Have fun!
Bob

You may want to start just by messing with the amp w/o backing tracks and get familiar with it, then FUSE, then the other software.

I found it frustrating to get it to work also. This page from fendor helped a lot.

Ableton is useful. I'm not sure what good ampliltude is with a mustang driving it.

Thanks very much both - this is very helpful and I will try out tomorrow.

This set-up is completely over the top and cumbersome - I now have a notepad full of serial numbers, ID codes, login passwords, etc, etc - its free software for Pete's sake, what is all this about?????
By the time it was set up (and still not working) I'd lost the will to live and in no mood to play my guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forget all the software stuff for now - it's an 'extra' only. Just enjoy the amp. With the MIII you don't even need FUSE - everything is pretty much available from the onboard LCD control.

Hey Andy,

Try that 1/8th" cord that Bob mentioned. That way, anything that plays out of your computer will play back through the amp's speaker.

Regarding the free 3rd party software, don't let it get you down. Some people like it, some don't. I would focus on the amp and Fender FUSE, since that is what you paid for.
