I had read this thread while my 12-28-2010 manufactured IV was half way to my house via UPS and I hoped and prayed I would get a June or July 2011 model, as being that these amps are so fantastic and great, how could they still have old ones in the GC warehouse?

Well it got here and I plugged it in and remembered that I read to keep it really soft to break in the speakers. The 00 setting and the very first low e string I played....and I knew I had the "fizz". Just my luck. I have not done many things yet that I will try tomorrow as I only had an hour with the amp, but I only heard the fizz on 3-4 presets and not any more. I have downloaded the firmware upgrades, but have not installed yet.
I am hoping that one of the things I read here will work.......I read that some of the presets have the gain up too high, so with the ability to lower the gain on those presets, especially if they are the ones giving me the fizz, I can just be happy with what I have.

Tomorrow I will try different locations and different guitars as well. I so hope that a viable solution can be found and I will report back of what happens tomorrow.
I traded in a 900 dollar Mesa Boogie TA15 in order to get the IV and I just want it
to be as good as it can be. Over all, on the presets that were clean and nice, and had no fizz, I LOVED the sound of this amp very very much !!!!! The Mesa Boogie just did not sound all that great to me, I ended up using a Marshall Mg30FX most of the time, as removing the dust covers and waiting for the tubes to warm up was just too much of a hassle when the 50 dollar Marshall pawn shop amp was ready to go in an instant.

Whats the first thing I did after I ordered the Mark IV ? I bought a dust cover !

Absolutly nothing to do with production date my friend. The Mustangs amps hardware hasn't changed since the very first units. Just firmware updtades. All amps are equals.

The fizz is now gone (at least, almost completly) gone on the I and II. I have the I and it works great. Even though Fender dont officially consider that fizz as an issue, you can be sure that they are aware of, and that someone there, in the headquaters, is certainly not satisfied to hear that this problem is not completely solved.

Be patient and I'm sure that a future firmware update will fix that issue once and for all !

I am very happy to be able to report that NO MORE FIZZ !!! I put the amp close to my recording studio that has a mac mini and I upgraded the firmware. I used the software to
change the noise gate to 0 and then changed some presets to have the gain lower. I saved the settings and then disconnected everything and put the amp back where I wanted it and plugged it into a outlet that was suppose to be for a computer and is on
a separate 20 amp breaker all by itself. When I turned it on, with the new firmware and
changes .........it worked and no fizz !!! I am very happy to have such a great Christmas present from myself that works great now !!!

Now the only thing I noticed was when I have everything off and the volume on 2 1/2
and my guitar vol on 10 that many presets are nice and soft. If I place my guitar on the ground and just go through all 100 presets, so are so loud that I get a feedback type of
sound. I noted that which pup I was using made a difference too, but my fender strat has been really modified with a HSH pup setup and I have push/pull for the two humbuckers to split their coils and a blender to go from neck to bridge hums.
I am so thankful that I now have a "keeper" !!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been on this forum since the summer. I was "trolling" this forum today basically curious to see what happened with the "fizz" issue. The tone of this forum topic seems to have changed over the months, seems more skeptical of what the other guys with the claim they have the fizz issue are reporting.

All I can say after re-checking this topic after a few months I feel I should make a comment. Believe me these guys are reporting a real issue here, and fender is not listening. I had an MIII and I took it back, and bought another company's product. My band mates all could hear it. We play alot of Funk, R&B i.e clean tones. It was totally unacceptable. I tried everything (power conditioner, home, rehearsal space etc). It fizzed on all the clean tones.

Those that don't have the fizz, well then you are lucky. The guys that say they do, this group and fender should be listening to them. They are reporting a real issue here. I've gone from lugging heavy tube amps to an all modeling setup where the band gigs 2, 3 times a month, my 7 year old tonelab se collecting dust doesn't produce the artifacts the MIII does. My "new" modeler same thing, quiet, no noise.

Anyway I thought by now maybe the issue would be solved and fixed. All I can say is too bad. I'm in the market for a Tele, maybe now I'll look at a G&L.

Well I am sorry to have to say that yesterday I plugged my SSS american strat into the amp and the Fizz is still there on many presets. The White HSH mim strat seems to play just fine, and I was heartbroken to have to have to deal with returning the amp after I thought the problem was solved.

To the person who said I dont have the fizz, oh yea...I do.

Sorry to hear that. The real fizz is incurable. Mine has gotten remarkably worse lately.

Fender has some serious 'splainin to do.

Occupy Fender!

Man I'm so sorry to hear that.

A III is still on my list (I own a I and it's doing great) but will wait for Fender to fix that fizz once and for fall. They did it with the I and II after a few firmware updates, (well not completly but the amp is absolutly usable) and I hope they are still trying to fix it on the III, IV and V too.

Competitors are reading this thread that's for sure and if ever they come up with something similar to the Mustangs without this fizzy artefact, our beloved Fender friends will loose some fans. Let's hope not :?

Patient people get what they want... it seems! I'll wait a couple of months and we'll see.

Line 6 is stoking the rumor mill for NAMM 2012. They're promising "the most significant product announcements in the history of the company."

So you might be right.

C'mon Fender--give us a reason to believe. Are you even trying to get rid of the MIII fizz? You're losing customers with your stubborn silence. I resent being treated like this--completely ignored--after I've spent my money on a product which turns out to be defective. All we're asking for is some news.

And we need to keep posting the samples so people going to the last pages of these threads can hear it, we need to keep thrusting this for all owners so they know what to listen for. Once theirs get this bad, and they probably will, it's obvious and can make it unusable. So here is THE FIZZ
