Lets keep the forum clean, guys.

Maybe Fender should make sure their customers can have a CLEAN sound instead of worrying about the forum being CLEAN...

I don't have that much fizz...I play a different style.. so it doesn't bother me much... but it's pretty disgusting when a company locks down a forum because they can't admit they goofed...

It's actually normal for mods to pull all threads on one subject into one thread. Cleans up the forum. Now if they could just clean up the amp...

Ok.. agreed... makes sense to put it in one thread... but I believe many threads have been started... because of "trolls".... Yippee I yay.. you don't have a problem... blah blah blah... but .. why "troll"... Maybe I'm a different breed..... sigh....:(

I am going to now assume, based on Fender's statement, that they are going to be able to fix this with the a new firmware upgrade. Even if it is caused by power, it may be possible to isolate and remove the noise digitally. The reason I feel that this is going to happen is because they are playing it off too cool. They'll probably release a new firmware that includes a fix and pretty much be like "yeah, no big deal, whatever."

Nah, it's hardware. There's no firmware fix for non-spec fritzing power supplies. They'll fix or replace one at a time and never legally admit there's any global problem. The beancounters and legal suits have spoken, and the customer be damned.

Just a thought...I don't own this amp, but this sounds suspiciously like a problem I had with a different amp. If the sound occurs only with the live speaker and not the headphones AND is pronounced only on low-E or notes close to it but not on high notes up the neck, then it could be a buzz caused by the amp chassis vibrating against part of the cab, probably against the front. If pressing down against different parts of the cab while playing eliminates the buzz, then that's it! Just slide out the chassis and put a little thin weather stripping between it and the point(s) where it may be touching the cab facing or baffle board.

Listen to the clips: the fizz is like some creepy digital carrier wave on top of the tone. Nothing to do with cab buzz.

Yeah, I've attached a completely different speaker cab and had the same problem. All of the experiments are on the first post of this thread.

Amp back from repairs, did not fizz for 2 weeks and it's back again on full force.

Problem permanently solved: Mustang III sold to less discerning player on kijiji.

Me buying myself a wonderful Jet City JCA100H :) Gonna rock the casba with a...ok not so clean amp I concur...but what a wonderful tone AND FIZZ FREE :D

I bid farewell to those who were friendly and actually had a useful discussion. I will not be back on the Fender amp forums since I will not be buying another Fender gear ever again. I just cannot support a company that does not support their product and manages to insult their customers by taking them for idiots in an official statement.

Well that's discouraging news. Did they fix it or replace it?

Anyone else get theirs fixed and have the fizz return?

Well, you certainly took the correct steps as a consumer to protect your interests, and no argument here about your conclusions about Fender. They treated their customer base like behelmeted short busers.

The modern corporation is not your friend.
