The only way they can claim its normal is if everyone had it. Since its I believe a relatively small or lower than 50% of people it's a defect. An an example nvidia many years ago tried to dismiss issues with their mobile gpu they blamed everything under the sun but during the class action they lost. So the net net is the oly way to get any head way is to get a lawyer to start a class action. I hate lawyers but unfortunately large corporations find it cheaper to deal with the potential of lawsuit for a faulty product over actually admitting it....look what Microsoft had to deal with with the Xbox.

This is what mine sounded like live during living room playing.

Which preset do you use for this sample? And how close did you hold your guitar to potential magnetic and electrical field sources, like TV or the speaker of the Mustang III itself?

What about the Mustang Mini?

I searched this topic, there's nothing saying if the Mini has the same problem.
I am going to buy it this week, I appreciate any comments on it. :?

So even the new items rolling off the assembly line still have the fizz? I am TRYING to buy two Mustang III amps - one for home and one for church - but the fizz is preventing me from purchasing. What's the guess as far as odds that I can get two without the fizz?

The issue as per the research I have done even if the fizz is not there at first it may creep up 1 month, 3 months or 3 years after purchase...

I would recommend if you are going to purchase either live with that fact and hopefully its before the return period OR far enough into the future that you feel you obtained the value based on the lower inception cost of alternatives...

Unfortunately Fender with this product is truly living up to the old saying "You get what you pay for".. as they are claiming its by design - which if it was why would an issue creep up months or years afterwards - sounds like to me poor quality components over a poor design. If it was a design issue this fizz would be evident in ALL amps not just some...

At this point I do not have the Fizz and I am looking for it very closely.. though I have heard it on occasion which seems to be apparent either when I have the USB plugged in OR when something on that power circuit is running that causes noise.. I have never heard it in an ideal condition...

It does produce an amazing sound for the $$ - if they fixed the Fizz and killed all this negative press I guarantee this product would be a winner - unfortunately even the sales guys at the GC, Samash, etc. know of the fizz and dont recommend it due to that fact... I was won over by the lower price as I am a hobbiest - if I was a professional I would have looked elseware...

Yeah but we are still paying three hundred bucks for this fizzy mess. How is there no class-action lawsuit happening over this? This is freaking ridiculous.

I'm on my fourth fizzy Mustang. How can they getting away with this? Fender, send me a good one that you guarantee won't fizz. I have been a faithful Fender customer for 30 years.

Folks, it sure looks like the problem 'fizzed' with the release of firmware v1.9.

Not sure it really has anything to do with that latest firmware release.

I think people fall into a number of categories, which when combined have collectively decreased the number of fizz-related posts here :

- Have the fizz and don't care.

- Do care but simply put up with it/don't comment here.

- Have had the fizz and have sold up/moved on.

- Don't (yet ?) have the fizz.

Also, the first flush of sales of these amps has probably passed, which would also logically see fizz related posts decline.

- Had fizz. The 1.9 update, high quality cables, hum debugger, and di-box fixed fizz.
- Found a tube amp and tube based multi-effects combo that suits my needs better.
- V head sitting, waiting for me to box it back up and sell it.
- Discovered that the Mustang is quite a nice amp for the money but the tube amp and tube based multi-effects (twice the price plus) are just...better.

Had the fizz, took the amp back and traded down to a Mustang 1. $99 is all I'm willing to spend on this product line.

Firmware v1.9 has no affect on the fizz. It's still there, unchanged. People have just grown frustrated with Fender on this issue because our pleas fall on deaf ears.

Yes I do. There is absolutely no change to the fizz under Firmware 1.9. Nor has Fender made any claims to have fixed it or even addressed the issue.

Still there. No change.

I'm always looking forward to some comment from Loren or Fender on this matter.
