I appreciate the reply. I know how to cause it, and I can hear it very faintly on mine, but I was hoping to hear an example of what it sounds like when it gets "unplayable" in some cases. Trying to figure out if someone else's "unplayable" is my "meh", especially if it worsens over time.

yeah, I understand what you mean. In my case I had my M3 for a year and a half now, and it did not get any worse. Frankly when the fizz varies in my case (notably decreases sometimes) I can always trace it back to either:

-playing in a different room with different accoustic properties
-playing either closer or farther away from the amp than I normally do
-plucking the strings in an unusual way (for my way of playing)
-raising or lowering the master volume for whatever reason.

other than that it always sounds the same for me.

I usually sit right within 3 ft of the front of amp. Why? So I don't have to turn it up as not to annoy the nasty people who live next door. I hear the fizz. I am getting close to end of return period. WHY I would not get the 2.
Closed back.

Other than that, I really use my computer to control the amp anyway!, So If I was to return it, I am still trying to figure out what else I could get, Peavey Vyper tube 60? Line 6? I had a Flextone III XL for many years and loved it, but sold it when I moved across country, (BIG MISTAKE)!

Anyway something about this amp I love so badly! And hate even more!

NAMM 2013 is at the end of next week. I would wait to see what's announced. Fender has already begun dribbling out new guitar model announcements.

See that's the thing. Yes there is this known fizz thing. But its been way hyped up as to how bad it really is. I would think that after several years of production, that if this were a wide spread problem, that if the amps were progressing to an unusable state on more than a couple of isolated incidents, that there would be way more people coming forth with tangible examples and posting it all over youtube. But alas, there is not.

Disclaimer - your fizz mileage may very.

Yeah, I did not notice the fizz on my 3, until I read about it, after buying it!!! I feel like the $$ spent and value outweigh the fizz. I think Fender will make good on it, Old company and they own almost every guitar company now,, My Gretsch is amazing beyong belief.. Also the music stores I spoke with, GC, Samash Sweetwater,,, They are alomost in the dark on the fizz, Look at all the reviews of the Mustang line, Boy I am teetering,Which way will I fall. I am not sure! I feel pretty stupid expecting so much amp, for so little money!
