I do not understand why fender does not already closeout the mustang III for around 150.00 and come out with a new fizz free version, they did this with the G-DEC 3 and there was no fizz or other major problems with this series of fender amps?

I can't find a release date on these. One article said this summer, which
is almost gone now.

I completely trust Blackstar. They would never pull this ""live with the fizz" stuff on its customers.

I am sure Fender long ago--even before the fizz--started the wheels turning on the next level of Mustang. Getting a new mass-produced product out is a massive undertaking, and doesn't happen overnight.

Also I would be looking for price increases from Fender in the next six months. They're always ahead of the curve in reacting to changes in economic conditions, and, without getting too technical, last week the Federal Reserve Bank announced a massive new inflationary policy.

I am still shocked at how Fender has handled this whole fizz situation. I think they've grown too big to care about each and every customer.

Guitar Center will not post my review!

A couple of weeks ago I submitted a review of the Mustang-III. In it I noted some of the things I like and also mention the 'FIZZ' and Fender's refusal to fix the defect... is Guitar Center censoring their reviews? I'm beginning to think I can't get an honest online review anymore.

You can get an honest review online. And you can also get a dishonest review online. And it is well documented that online reviews are managed, manipulated, promoted or demoted and deleted by host companies. And it is also well documented that companies and individuals can buy social votes and reviews, positive or negative according to their motives, at sites that crowd-source social media vote-buying and reviewing. You sound surprised.

MUST READ!!!

Ok so I bought the fender mustang 4 the other day. Intended on getting the 3 but Guitar center had 100 dollars off anything 499 or greater so I got the mustang 4 for 400 bucks. Not bad at all. I must say I really LIKED this amp. PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE MESSAGE. Cleans are great and even the metal sounds arent half bad. Fender did a really good job. I plugged it in next to my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, as far as the cleans go...id say they are just as good. The hot rods are not as good as the fender REVERBS but they are still a great sounding clean amp. Anyways, I bought it hoping I wouldnt get a fizz one. Apperently sounded great at the store. got it home, and it still sounded great. However, I came across a post yesterday online, where someone said they could reproduce the FIZZ on their amp by selecting their neck pickup and plucking the low "E" string while fretting at the 7th fret on any clean amp model setting. I tried it and crap....I have fizz. Its even worse when you turn master to around 5, and turn the bass up a bit...maybe 5+. By worse...I mean if you let it ring for maybe 4 seconds you will start to here it. I tried it with my ESP, my american strat and my Epiphone les paul. All guitars fizzed fretted at this note. Oddly enough, it does not fizz...or at least its very low, anywhere else except I think the 15th or 17th frets on the low "E" string. This is definitely the note decay everyone is talking about and NOT string buzz or anything like that. So I went back to guitar center to return it. I tried 2 different mustang 3's AND one mustang 4 and one 5 with the fender stack. ALL fizz with the LOW E String fretted at the 7th fret. Now I do not know if they all have the latest software version or if that would even help. these were all floor models. They did not have any brand new ones in the back, and the one I brought home was also a floor model. They said they would order me another mustang 4 brand new in box and we could update it at the store and try it before I brought it home and I would still have 30 days to return it. So I will see what happens and come post back here however, I am a believer that its possible ALL these amps probably have the fizz to a certain degree when fretted on the 7th fret low E string bass turned up on clean channels. Now the decision I need to make is can I live with it? I say this because, it really does only fizz noticably at the 7th and either 15th or 17th fret(I cant remember) while in a clean channel setting and when you let the note ring out. Not many songs would ever have this happen while playing live so I dont think its that big of a problem but I will play it a lot over the next month and make my decision then whether it really ends up annoying me or not. It really is a shame that this problem still exists as these would make oustanding solid state amps. I am thinking about going the super champ road now but will miss all the customization this amp offers. I wonder how the fender mustang floor board version would sound going through my hot rod deluxe?

Can anyone report back to whether you can put any of the new amp models on to the mustang 2 using the fuse software?

EVERYONE WHO SAID THEIRS DO NOT FIZZ PLEASE TRY WHAT I DESCRIBED ABOVE AT THE 7TH fret and report back. The bad thing is, we wont be able to tell if its simply a fender representative reporting here with a positive review.
As I stated above, I may still keep the amp as I love its features and its sounds, minus fizz. I love fender products, and I do believe its still a great amp for the money, but I dont know if i can get over even knowing this problem exists....maybe I will buy a mustang 2 and a super champ haha

Sorry but why is this a "must read"? It does not benefit the entire group.

I appreciate hearing your review of the amp, but you haven't told us anything that hasn't already been discussed.

There's no shame in ditching the amp for any reason you decide. If you can't live with the amp, you can't live with amp.

But good luck finding another amp that is equal in value, features, and tone quality for the money.

Bigeclipse, thank you for sharing your story. Every fizz experience is an important contribution toward documenting the issue that Fender chooses to ignore. Although there are some on this board who do not wish to see the truth publicized, I feel it's necessary so that Fender realizes the impact that this so-called "non-issue" is having on users, and the damage it is doing to Fender's reputation.

Fender needs to offer refunds to users who can't live with the fizz. Fender is keeping mum on the issue under the strategy that if an uninformed customer doesn't discover the fizz within 30 days, Fender can laugh all the way to the bank.

I am convinced that all Mustangs III, IV and V fizz. Otherwise Fender would exchange the fizzing amps for non-fizzing ones. Instead, Fender has declared the fizz to be a non-warranty matter. In other words, they are supposed to fizz.

I wish you the best of luck in your search for a non-fizzing Mustang, and please please keep us posted with updates.

The reason I posted this was not to say stuff that has already been said but to confirm that I believe others who have said the fizz is in EVERY mustang 3,4,5 are correct and to WARN those buying new mustangs, there WILL be a fizz. I wanted others (who have said theirs is FIZZ FREE) to try and reproduce the sound via 7th fret low E string on a clean setting letting the note ring out. I believe the fizz free croud simply have not tried this. As I stated before, the fact that this fizz was only produced by the method I used may NOT be a deal breaker for me as I would probably never sustain a clean 7th fret note in a live setting anyways, but the fact remains that its something fender should have fixed by now in the 2012 models. I mean come on, you hear this is a problem, you dont admit to it.....FINE dont admit to it which sucks for others, but damn...fix the new ones coming out of your factory. I just got back from two more local music stores who only had mustang 3s. I played a total of 3 more. Two at the first store and the floor model at the second store. EVERYONE of the them fizzed exactly as I stated in my earlier post. I hope I can get over the 7th fret fiz as I really do enjoy this amp, especially for the cost...but I just got another idea...I might get the mustang FLOOR and use it on my PA or other solid state combos. I heard the mustang floors are fizz free due to the lack of a power section where everyone think the fizz comes from.

I have checked and there is no fizz on my MIII using a clean amp setting, low E, 7th Fret.

No fizz here either, this is my setup:

-Mustang 3, bought in february 2012
-tested with neck, bridge pickups (texas specials) and bridge humbucker (pearly gates)
-master volume up to 6
-basic twin and basic princeton tested
-plucked from fret 7 up to 17 on low E and listened until background noise makes impossible to hear any longer the note
-cheap planet waves 10 feet cable
-stock .42 E string from fender

no fizz in any case. The only thing is, when I pluck the 7th fret, right before the note completely fades I can hear the 7th harmonic, but I guess you are not referring to that.

now at the risk of infuriating all people having the fizz issue, I did hear the fizz once, several months ago during a couple hours. Never again since, so what about this idea: provided that the noise comes from the power amp, could it be that if AC power is not perfect (low voltage, peaks, phase, etc.) this affects the audio quality of the power amp?
