I got a new computer and am trying to use Fender amplitued LE that came with my Mustang 1. It installs fine but getting it to work in a reasonable way is another matter.

What I would like to do is plug my guitar into the microphone input of the computer and have amplitued model an amp in real time with reasonable latency.

What happens is that I need to make the buffer 2K to get reasonable sound and then the latency is way to much.

I'm using DirectX, when I try to select ASIO all other options go dim and it seems that something isn't installed correctly.

What am I missing?

John

Hey John,

There appears to be some confusion regarding the software and it's setup. Your Mustang is meant to be used as an input-only audio interface for AmpliTube Fender LE, not your computers mic input. The guitar signal will need to be amplified somehow.

You'll want to have the amp connected prior to starting AmpliTube and setting up your ASIO configuration. Take a look at this KB article.

Yes, I'm confused. And now I have you answering my questions in two threads! Sorry about that.

I guess what confused me is that if I connect the guitar to my computer with the mustang then why do I need Amplitude? The mustang has all the guitar models that I need. What does amplitude bring to the party? For recording, thanks to fender, I have ableton light or even plain old audacity for that matter.

You're right though, I am confused about this.

The mustang is great though, it's a lot of fun.

John

Hey John,

AmpliTube is great for software amp modeling. We threw it in the box with the Mustang because software amp modeling has gotten very good over the past few years and lots of guitar players aren't aware of that. We decided to provide a "limited" version of AmpliTube Fender to get the word out.

It's not for everyone, but it also doesn't cost you anything.

Ok, with the mustang and an asio driver that I downloaded from fender I got amplitube working. But I'm still confused. I also have ableton working and the mustag is doing it's modeling thing when it's in the loop. Now when I use amplitube is the mustang still modeling? Do I have a chain of one amp modeler going into another amp modeler or is amplitude smart enough to use raw sampled guitar signal somehow?

John

Edit: After playing around with it some more I see that the mustang is still modeling while amplitude is modeling too. So I don't get it????

Can't get Amplitube to work either as I was wondering what I was missing in the Fender Fuse (which I do have working.) Oh well, I guess I'll just stick with FUSE .... the user down loads are UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!

Again guys, the software is included at no charge to you as a means to try AmpliTube. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it. If you have issues getting it set up, we can help you with that.

tscoolberth - have you looked at this KB article?

If so, and you still can't get it running, contact us directly.
