Time enough passed, to speak some clear words. There is a remedy, and I have no Idea why nobody of the Fender Staff tells the community about it and what they are waiting for.
More than two month ago, Loren (she seems to have left...) sent me a Beta of a new Fuse and Firmware for testing purposes. It solves(!) the problem with the unwanted switching of effects and presets (the topic of this thread) AND nearly solves the second big problem, the not-showing of current amp settings in Fuse. This beta is not able to connect to the internet though.

In general Fender doesn't seem to realize that the biggest potential of this great product "Mustang" lies in the community of people using it. This forum is quite dead when you consider how many owners of the Volk-Amp there may be worldwide. Maybe they ran in a dead end road with their treating of the fizz-prob witch hit mainly the pros and semi-pros with the MIII - V, many of them stopped their contributions as reaction.
Further to me it seems the moderators can not write what they think and what they know, but follow strict orders from above to keep their mouth shut. I cannot imagine that they feel very well in this role.

Hello Fender! An amp witch switches effects on and off by its own is NOT USABLE even for a rehearsal or a small gig in a Bar! Neither is software which doesn't show the current settings and makes you save the wrong values and destroy your presets. This should be obvious to everybody. And your answer since 3 months "we are working on it" is getting very poor. If I would work like this, my customers would give a s*** on me.

Hi Guys,

We appreciate your patience very much regarding the release of this firmware update. Please understand that we are paying attention and definitely value our customers. Recently we have been short handed and very busy. And this has caused additional delays regarding the release of this firmware. At this point, we will be releasing an update for the Fender Mustang product line within the next few days. This release will be a firmware only release and will be available in the related Fender Mustang Knowledgebase articles. It will be announced on this Forum as well.

And to acknowledge your post here Frente, I see that you are very unhappy with a number of aspects of Fender support. I am sorry that you feel that way. We are all human beings. And sometimes things occur that cause delays with product or software updates that might seem to be unacceptable and without reason from the outside looking in. But please keep in mind that I personally, and many others here are doing our level best and working hard to bring high quality products with great features to market. Further, we are all working hard here to support these products as well. If you have additional concerns with your Fender products, let me know and I will be happy to assist you.

Thanks all.

Hi ..

I see this thread is a year old ... I have a mustang II purchased in January 2013... I am experiencing the same preset switching problem.. Has there been a resolution to this problem or should I just RMA it.

Frente answers your question 4 posts up. Just install the latest firmware update and you'll be set. Better yet, install the latest FUSE version 2.7.0.30 public beta from the first thread a the top of this forum and do the bundled firmware update that comes with it.

Hi adiorio110,

We would also recommend that you install the latest firmware and build of Fender® FUSE™ on your system. One other thing you can do is to program your effects chains from Fender FUSE and leave the MOD & DLY/REV knobs at the zero position. Some users find that they prefer to program this way. Please see the links below for this info. And please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

First, love this product, great little amp. I have used my Mustang II more or less trouble free for about 18 months, but recently was visited by the random delay/modulation effects monkey. It is unsettling. I had already updated to latest firmware and Fuse when this occurred, so update made no difference. I found the only cure is keeping the MOD & DEL/REV knobs on the amp all the way down.

Hi Twang99,

Thanks for your information here. I will forward this to the related engineers. Keep in mind as well that Fender® FUSE™ ignores the MOD and REV/DLY knobs on the amp so to speak, when you program Presets with the software (other than specifically saving effects chains to the knob locations).

So, if you have all 24 Presets customized within Fender FUSE as standard Presets, you would be set to go even without adjusting the knobs on the amp. But, we will pass along your feedback to the related folks here as well.

Best Regards,
