Agreed jc - I'm always falling back to the Twin. But I'm warming up to the Deluxes, Princeton, Bassman, and British models. And there is something that keeps drawing me back to the Super-Sonic. I'm like 2 hair-widths (any type of your choosing) from dialing that one in... Wish me luck.

Kept getting a really ugly distortion on transients with the Twin until I turned the gain WAY down. But its clean still isn't luscious enough for me. Kind of cold and dead. Haven't found the right compression/EQ/Bias/SAG combo to really enjoy it yet.

I've got 3 electrics...a Les Paul Studio, a G&L Legacy (basically an SSS strat) and a G&L Legacy HB (basically a fat strat). I can get great tones with all of these amps through the Mustang...even moreso now that I added the jack for an external speaker cab! I'm especially loving the Deluxe Reverb through the external speaker cab!

Just this weekend I was really impressed with how fat the JCM800 model sounds with my SSS Legacy...and the pickups in that guitar are all vintage output (DiMarzio Area '61 and Area '58s). I usually only use that guitar for clean and mild OD sounds, but it was downright respectable with the UK 80s model!

But the Les Paul sounds great with the models, too...nice fat, jazzy clean tones, sweet vintage OD tones and screaming high gain, too!

I've got about 9 LP's on my Variax and they all sound great through the MIII. It likes LPs!
