I am a pretty newbie at recording stuff. I recently bought the Mustang I and wanted to start recording.
My problem is : Each Software I tried (Adobe Soundbooth, Riffworks, Ableton Live Lite) recognizes my amp(interface) if ASIO4all or AsioFender.
I can see that each software knows I am in and recognizes the volume of my guitar and everything, even if i start recording I see everything happen.

BUT:

When I want to play my recordings everything is dead. I cant hear anything. Every sound in the software is just dead. In Riffworks there is this drumbackground. When I open Riffworks without my guitar trough Mustang I hear everything. But when I choose the ASIO driver then the drummer is mute.

Even the testsound in Ableton doesnt work.

I dont know how to fix it and I would really appreciate your help! :)

To be able to help you we need to know HOW you are planning to listen to the recordings.
It's important to know that the mustang USB interface is a one way street.
You can use it to record but not to playback therefor you need some other device for playback like your PC soundcard.
The trick is to tell ASIO4ALL or the Fender universal audio driver to use the mustang interface as input and the other interface for output.

Thanks for the fast response.
As I already said I have no idea about this stuff and I try hard to get some knowledge.

What I heard and saw its like: you record something and right after it you can play it and see if you like it. I guess thats how its supposed to be right?

So what do I have to do to show the computer or the programm that I want to listen to it and edit it ?

Thanks, I really think that now I can solve the problem with your help :)

Can you open the ASIO Settings window?
Do you see your inputs and outputs?

Check out this page for more info:

The yellow indicators definitely mean your soundcard is the problem.
It might be you have to disable the inputs of your soundcard because of some sort of conflict.
You can do this in windows, go to the configuration for sounddevices.
Or ASIO is not supported by your soundcard(driver) and you could try downloading the latest drivers.

Would that mean that I would have to change my soundcard or buy a soundcard in order get these things working?
Because I have tried the latest FenderMustangAsio and I downloaded the latest ASIO4All driver.
Same problem with both.

No i wouldn't buy a new soundcard just yet.
The yellow thingy indicates the states "Beyond logic"
ASIO4ALL gives the following on this status:
-> Disable system sounds in Control Panel
-> Deactivate unused inputs and outputs
-> Audio drivers too old / too new
-> Computers hate you

OK the last one is pretty obvious but the other 3 are definitely worth a try.

If it's a Realtek or similar onboard sound card, you may have to get a different sound card to get the best results. Realteks and their sisters are not compatible with the ASIOs.

I think you are right but I got it to work just once .. I'm still fiddling around with this. I just switched over to the native setup .. because REALTEK seems to be like a aftermarket add-on in my SAMSUNG laptop.

You definitely want to use ASIO, either the Fender ASIO driver or ASIO4ALL. Don't use any other drivers. You also definitely want to disable any ouputs other than your soundcards main output in the ASIO control panel.

Make sure you have output first. As long as the test tone plays you shouldn't have any problems.
