I currently own a G-DEC Junior amp, got it with my squier strat last year (Using MIJ fender strat now) But i think i semi-killed it as i keep hearing this loud annoying buzz/static sound from the amp, even when im using it in an area with no electronics and with nothing plugged in. And although its a decent amp i am looking for something better.

So i was looking at the mustang I, these dont sell cheap in where i live (Singapore) its going for about $200 in SGD. Do you guys think its worth an upgrade? I do not own any pedals/effects whatsoever and do not intend to buy any soon.

Hi cr0wnest,

Perhaps there could be a screw loose on your G-DEC Jr. Loose screws have been known to cause rattle/buzz.

Regarding the Mustang I, that would be an excellent upgrade. It contains lots of high quality amp models and effects so there is virtually no need for external pedals. On top of that, the Fender FUSE software adds tons more functionality to the amp.

Did you get the amp and guitar new? If so the amp is still under warranty so don't do anything to the amp that would void the warranty.
