Can someone give me a detailed explanation for the MUSTANG 3 that explains what all the effects under the SECOND row of AMP settings mean? I didn’t even know they were there until a month after I had the amp. More stuff to tweak!

The second row varries a bit depending upon which amp model you are using. But most of them include at least these:

Sag - a control that lets you simluate how fast the power supply on a tube amp is able to respond to the power needs of the amplifier tubes. Reducing the sag makes it distort quicker, but "softer" and giving it a sound that some describe as more "spongey."

Bias - simulates the control bias adjustment on tube finals. it controls the distortion characteristics of the final tube. Higher bias ads a different quality of distortion some discribe as making the amp "hotter." Whereas a real tube amp that had the bias cranked up would burn out the final tubes much faster because the tubes draw too much current with more bias and tend to overheat. But on a solid state modeling amp, no problem, only a change in sound....

Gate - this is the noise gate. It sets a cut-off threshhold for the input of the amp, which squelches off hum, finger noise, and other interference. Very helpful in "de-noising" your signal, especially with single-coil pickups.

Cabinet - alllows you to change the type of speaker cabinet that is being modeled. some are single speaker cabs, others 2-12", and others 4-12's. It can make a major difference in the tone quality of your preset.

Some amp models have additional stages of gain controls, presence, blend, etc.

The more you play with these, the more you will like your amp.
Try some of them out, you can't break anything!
Have fun!

Since I never read manuals, it took me a while to realize you had to bang AMP twice too. But once you do, more sonic riches to explore.
