the Mustang 3 is set up so the mellow sounds are 5 times softer than the lead sounds..this is nutz..
the RP 1 was the same way. the "expert" at the companys do this so when children go to Guitar Center they play the thing and go WOW look how loud I am..dude....!!!!!
Adults go in and say, WOW look how unusable this thing is!!! ( dude)
also the order of the pre-sets are insane...why would I go from a fender rythmn sound to a Vai lead sound....???..
why not make pre-set 00 to 10..for morons and 99 to 90 for blues , rock or jazz...???
FENDER, THINK !!!! who has the $300 for a new amp...Adults...who has the $99 for a practice amp...kids!!!
I can use a dB meter to set the pre-sets to a usable volume but that is not fool proof.
I found, if I turn down the amp and set the volume on each pre-set, it makes the relative volume better.( still not perfect)
or , you can use the old studio trick and set it up,, go outside the room and listen to each sound..that tells you which ones are way too loud...( play along to a loud backing track so you can see if the volume is usable in a live situation...my 2 cents..)
use it right and you can leave your 50 lb tube amp and 50 lb pedal board at home...
OR.....................Fender can quit losing sales and set it up for pros ..not children..
