Hi all,

Just wondering whether the Mustang III I got delivered today is operating normally?... The unit can sometimes take as long as 2 minutes to power up!

Plugged into the mains, I'll flick the switch on the back, and it'll take a while before everything lights up and the amp sounds are active. With it being a solid state device, I wouldn't have thought that it would have needed to 'warm up'?!

Interestingly, if I have headphones plugged in - during this time I can hear a digital 'heartbeat' which sometimes speeds up before the unit goes fully live. The amp is fine and sounds great once it's up and running. I've installed the latest firmware and factory reset it a few times, but power on time stays the same.

Is 2 minutes a normal amount of time to wait for one of these amps to power up? If not I need to send it back!

Jon.

Mine starts up in about 4 seconds. Never had any sort of delay like you have. I think you may have a problem...might want to bring it back if you purchased it in a store.

Although it's not quite as complex as the Mustang III, which has a few more things to load up, My Mustang II is 'on' pretty much instantly once I turn on the power.

As laywrite says, I think you have a problem and should certainly take it back if it continues.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Fender have confirmed that something is wrong with it - possibly the PCB. So a new one is on the way :)

I apologize for the issue you're experiencing Jon. If you have any questions about the amp feel free to ask.

Thanks Loren, just one of those things I guess. The issue is being swiftly resolved with the faulty amp being exchanged for a new unit.

When it was running, I was really impressed with the unit. Great sound quality and impressive features. Looking forward to getting the exchange one.

Jon.
