Wondering if anyone has found Noise Reduction available within FUSE or as a selectable patch within the Mustang III? Played live last evening and had a little difficulty with the crunchier / distorted patches. However, the building was a resorted theater style built in the 1920's. There is updated electrical, but I'm unsure if this is a contributing factor. The amp has had no such issue at two different venus or at home. Thanks for any help and information.

Noise gates can be configured on each amp model (on any given preset, press the "amp" button twice and you should see the "gate" parameter which you can adjust using the control knob. You can get to this via FUSE as well.

No global option though, it has to be saved on a per-preset basis. If you frequently play at this place, you may want to spend some time in advance of your next gig creating a set of presets with adjusted noise gate settings just for it.

PITA

I've had a Mustang III for about 4 months now and have experienced the same thing. Even worse if I select the "American 90's" amp (as wellas several others) I get a high noise level that can be gated out but as soon as I hit "save" it's as if the noise gate isn't even on. The noise level goes all the way back to where it was before I adjusted the gate.

This essentially disables using any of the effects on most amp modles. :(

Try selecting different cabs in Advanced amp options - some have far less noise and it might do the trick.

I'm not sure how you would do this on a III using the LCD since I have a II and have to use FUSE to set noise reduction on my presets.

When I first started using FUSE, I noticed that if I moved the THRESH or DEPTH controls of the noise gate (in Advanced Amp) and did a save that the settings wouldn't take on a "Save".

I then figured out that you have to select "Custom" if you do this or just be satisfied with the OFF, LOW, MID, HIGH, SUPER settings as they are without tweaking.

There is probably a way to do this on the III without the need for FUSE...

If the Fender guys can check in on this thread, the problem that I've found with the noise gate not saving has to do with fuse not saving the following parameter within the .fuse xml file. Once I go in and manually change this parameter

<Param ControlIndex="15">5</Param>

to 5 then it allows the custom noise gate setting to stick. In addition I usually set parameter 16 to 9 which makes the threshold maxed. This is for noisy presets if anyone else is having the problem.

Can we get this bug fixed in the next version of fuse? Also how about a map to the Mustang and GDEC XML files so we can port the GDEC presets to Mustang and vice versa. I'm working on this myself but it would be great if Fender would give an official map. It's not giving away trade secrets it's just giving us tone seekers a little more control.

Wasn't it fixed in an early Fuse firmware update?

If it was fixed then it's back, because I'm on a Mustang III with the 1.6 firmware and Fuse 2.3.0 and I still have this problem.
