Just got my Mustang for b-day. Still learning. But one thing I am a bit bummed about is difficulty in tweaking existing preset directly on amp (without FUSE hooked up). As stated in the guide: "The only way to know what the preset setting of a knob is before you turn it, is by using Fender FUSE software and connecting the Mustang to your computer."

When you turn a knob to activate it and tweak, you have no idea where you are with respect to the original preset setting. If Fender is out there listening, I have an old Korg effects unit that got it right: after you turn a knob and activate it, when you get to the original preset setting, an LED will light; if you go off original setting, the LED light goes out. This way, you can get very close to the original settings in activated mode, and then start tweaking it just a bit. Maybe this is an enhancement that can utilize the effects LEDs, somewhat like the tuner behaves, and be added as a firmware update?

Agree.

There really should have been be an appendix to the manual that details the starting point amp control settings, and also lists any associated effects and their settings, at least for the 12 basic amp presets.

I know that when you tweak a preset on-amp the original settings can easily be restored by moving up or down from that preset and then back to it, or by pressing exit, but that still doesn't tell you what the stock settings actually are - sometimes moving a knob even minimally on the amp produces huge setting changes that bear absolutely no relation to how far you have moved it, which can be pretty confusing. And as you say, savdog, there is no way of knowing what the original setting really was.

Yes, that would be nice. I'm wondering if it was a price consideration for the MI and MII??
