Does anyone use a stand for their Mustang III and if so, which one?

I use that little $19 stand from MF. Works great except when you tilt back the III it tilts the controls away from you. Fortunately the tuner and switching are all in the 4-button.

In another thread here there was some debate about stands that lift your amp fully off the floor, on the basis that you will lose some bass response because the amp is 'decoupled' from the floor.

If that is a concern, one option is the 'standback' brand amp support, a neat tripod idea that tilts your amp back safely so you can hear it better but still keeps it partly 'coupled' to the floor.

I have both types and I can hear the difference, but I think there are also other issues, for example the stage flooring material etc, and also whether the amp is going to be miced or not.

Really depends on what you are actually trying to achieve, e.g. better sound for you, or better sound for the audience - ideally both I guess !

I use the same stand from MF because I had it already. Only problem is that the back supports are a half inch too short and hit the open back in the wrong place. I need to cut a yardstick long enough to add to the length by 1 inch and it will be perfect.

You all may not want to do this on a $300 MIII but for my MI, I'm considering cutting a hole in the bottom for a pole mount "top hat".
I have an extra PA speaker stand that I could use it with and that would put the MI closer to ear level and it wouldn't have to work so hard. I know... it'll void the warranty. Maybe Fender should make this a standard thing. What do you guys think? What would you say to that Mr. Loren Howard?
