I test drove the mustang 3 last Friday by complete mistake (I was trying out a cs 57 reissue ) and was very impressed. So I went and bought it today. I haven't gone all way through it but I'm hella impressed. Got it home to my frankenstrat and I swear some of the presets sound like authentic tube amps. So far I am 100% happy with the amp. I will be back talking about it as I proceed. I can't believe they can see this for this price point!

Welcome to the club! As a Mustang III owner and an American Series Strat player, I can tell you that the more you play with it the more you will love it. As you play with modifyng presets, play with Sac and Bias, Cabinets, and adjust various effects, you will find an endless variety of sounds to please the ears. And I have only had mine for about 4 weeks!

First suggestions....

1) Load the latest version of FUSE on your computer and update the firmware in the amp to the newest version before you get to deep into fine tuning presets. (Some of the amp models have subtle changes (improvements) in the new firmware, as do the effects.) Then backup all your original presets before you save too many of them.

2) Get the 4 button footswitch. It will add great versitility to your playing, especially when combined with the 2 button that came with the amp. (order it now because you may have to wait for it.)

3) Don't be afraid to play around and modify the presets. I would recommend startng with some of the "Basic" models (88- 99) and go from there. Save them to an unused or unliked slot so you don't destroy a preset you like. But Remember.... You can't break it, it's software! if you screw up, load it back and start over.

4) Have fun!

Try Musician's Friend for the 4 button footswitch. They matched Sweetwater's price and then took an additional two bucks off. It only cost $37.99, no shipping fee and no tax, and I got it in a few days...
