My Mustang 3 is only 10 days old and updated the latest Fuse 2.2.2 bundled w/ 1.6.4 firmware yesterday 4/18/11, my question is do you have to uninstalled the old version of fuse prior to installing the latest version?, I just want to make sure I did the right things bcoz i'm still having the fizz problem and considering to return this M3. I'm using a Fender Strat 1954 Custom Re-issue. pls help and advice.

You may already know this but just to be sure...

Installing the FUSE update all by it's self does not update the firmware on your amp. Once Fuse is installed (and the amp is connected to the computer and On), you have to go to the Main Menu -> Utilities -> Update Firmware... -> Bundled Update -> follow the instructions.

thnks p90sdude,
i think i did the right things as i went through the procedure you said but is it necessary that you used the latest fuse version in updating my firmware to my amp ? or do you have to uninstalled first your old fuse version then download and installed the latest one and then update your firmware to your amp using fuse at main > utilities> upated firmware etc... or how can i check that my fuse version i used is the latest one (FUSE 2.2.2) when i updated my latest firmware V1.6.4?,

sorry my question seems complicated pls enlightened, i am a new user of M3.

Hello,

You should be able to do an in place upgrade of the Fuse software (on the PC for sure, I am unsure about the MAC, but I think the same is true.)

After you upgrade the software, select Help-> About form the file menu to check the version. If you select the Utilities menu, you can get the current amplifier firmware version.

Note that you do not have to have the latest version of FUSE to upgrade the amplifier firmware. You can download the firmware seperately and update the amp.

I'm curious, did it solve your fizz?

I still hear it with the update but its less apparent. I had one, thought it was the amp and took it back. I bought another (III model) and I still hear it even after the update.

I don't hear it through headphones. I don't think its anything vibrating because its there even on low volumes. Its most apparent using humbuckers with with default 65 Deluxe model.

hooch1,

Did you just update FUSE, or your firmware as well? It's the firmware that solves the fizz problem.
