Well recently I finnaly discovered how to record with ableton and today I made my first recording... turns out that when you save lite set as, save a copy, collect all and save or export audio what it does is saves all your settings and recording which is great but it can't be opened by anything other then ableton, not so great.

... So what I want to know is if there is a way to save the recording in a way that some other program such as windows media player can play it. There probably is a way but I'm to ignorant to find it so if you know the answer please, enlighten me. If there isn't then that would be retarded so I will assume there is a way.

Thanks in advance :)

I think the next step is "rendering" so as to output a .wav file or .mp3. I'm just about at that stage and have been going to the Ableton forums and videos to step through all this. I took one crack at drum loop that I told it to export 80 bars worth but that didn't work.

Take the Ableton tutorials right in the software.

Hey Guys,

The "Export Audio" command in the file menu is used to render or "bounce" your multi-track composition into a stereo MP3, AIFF, or WAV file that can be played in any audio player or burned to a CD. You can select the length of the bounce and the file type. Most players will play files bounced as 24bit, but CD quality is 16 bit/44100k sample rate.
