Hi everybody,

I own the fantastic Fender Mustang III and a guitar Ibanez RGA42BK mounted with 2 actives humbuckers LZ3.

I'm trying to setup my amp to get THE Angus Young' sound.

Unfortunatly, even I'm getting closer I fail to have a great clean, strong and lightly saturated sound.

I wish I could obtain Hells' Bells sound. 8)

I downloaded all AC/DC presets from the fuse site but none of them gave me satisfaction.

Could you please help me to configure my Mustang III :
- Which Amp to choose ?
- Which Cabinet to choose ?
- What level for Gain, Treble, Medium and Bass ?
- Which effects ?
- What quantity of Reverb ?
- ...

Thank you in advance.

Sorry for my english but I'm french.

Hi,
Have you tried Preset 24 "Aussie Rock " in standard amp presets ?.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your post.

No I haven't still tried preset 24 but I will.
However, I made my own presets named Hells Bells available in Mustang presets website.
Tell me what u think about it !

I think that if you go through FUSE, set it at ADVANCED AMP settings and use one of the Cabinets that are for Metal that emulate a Marshall Stack instead of using a PRESET, You could Tweak the settings (Gain, Reverb) and maybe put a Overdrive Stomp box in front. I think if you keep at it you will find your Angus Young tone. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong. FUSE is amazing.I have a Mustang III also, Love it. Best of luck for your tone friend!

Regards,
Michael

Depending on how adventurous you are you could also start from scratch.
The British 70 is very close to a classic Marshall head - use one of the 4-12 speaker settings
Since Angus uses no pedals - that I've every read - It is all in the interaction of his guitar electronics and the amp settings. Again, you might have to look at the differences between the Gisbon SG's he uses Pickup specs, volume settings, electronic specs, and your guitar. With someone like Angus the pickups have an enormous effect on the overall sound.

You could also start with the 59 Bassman to get that JCM45 sound. It takes a lot of tweeking, but its there.

Again, much of Angus Young's sound is because of the guitars he uses and how they are setup. If your pickups don't have the some frequency response (too much base, not enough high end) you'll never quite get the sound right.

Good luck
